One of the hottest (and I do mean hottest) Rotis I've ever eaten was from Gandhi's Indian Cuisine on Queen St. West. It's so hot in fact that I can honestly say that for all of the years I've eaten there, I've only had their spiciest three times. Gandhi's not only serves heat to maximum when asked for, but is also the Toronto Standard for East Indian Style Roti.

They do Rotis and they do it well. Their butter chicken roti is to kill for. But be warned! If you order the Hottest they have, it will linger with you for a day or two, this type of heat is not for the faint of heart.

This place looks like a little dive on eccentric Queen Street but, oh my, are the roti creations excellent! I went here with one of my office colleagues who had been to this place often. I ordered the butter chicken roti and it was amazing. Their creations can almost be described as oversized Indian burritos. They are served in a large aluminum pan and have to be eaten with a fork. The wonderful wheat rotis envelop the filling of your choice. The physical size of the restaurant is extremely small and there are perhaps four tables. But the ambiance and décor are not what you would come to experience. Sometimes these simple places provide the best food in town and this place falls into that category. It is a little expensive for what it is but the price is well worth it in my opinion. I heartily recommend giving it a try.
