I stayed one night at the Home Hotel, because most hotels in the city center were full or really expensive due to a conference going on. The location of the hotel is ok, it is a bit out of the center, but the connection through subway and buses is very good and you can get to the center in about 10 - 15 minutes.
The rooms are basic and functional and there is quite a lot of cupboard to store and hang your clothes. The room itself was also quite clean and there was a clean towel and linen provided. The internet connection was great!!! I stayed in about 4 different places in Toronto during this place and this one definitely had the best connection.
However, I the whole place did not really feel welcoming. The common areas (bath, kitchen) were a bit filthy (under the sink I found 3 plastic bags full of trash - probably from other visitors - and no one took care of that), the toilet looked a bit dirty. The owners were nice, but very distant and I could not help but feel that it was a bit creepy.
I think it's a good place to crash for one night, but it's not a place for a comfy stay and for several nights.
