After researching hotels in downtown Toronto for our honeymoon, we settled on Patanges because it looked modern, has a great location and had good prices. From previous reviews, it also looked like the hotel was doing extra little things for people celebrating anniversaries, etc, so we thought we may get a little something extra for being on our honeymoon. When checking in, I mentioned that it was our honeymoon, and all the front desk guy said "well, you get a king bed", which actually comes with the chic suite... so nothing extra, which was disapointing. Then after our first day, trying to take a shower was difficult, as we had to wait over 5 minutes for the hot water to show up (the same for the next 2 morning and evenings). Also, we woke up with stiff necks and hurting backs from the too big pillows and hard mattresses. We weren't looking forward to our second night. Our second day in Toronto we were going to Wonderland, so we asked for easy, quick directions, which the front desk guy printed off Google Maps (I thought he'd pick the best route) and we ended up taking little side streets in traffic and it took us over an hour to get there... Needless to say we found a different quicker route to get back in the evening. Note that only valet parking is available, at over $30 a day, and they charge...After researching hotels in downtown Toronto for our honeymoon, we settled on Patanges because it looked modern, has a great location and had good prices. Take advantage of Fran's diner next door, yummy food and friendly service! Overall impression? Will not go again, and will keep looking for a comfortable affordable downtown hotel for the next time we go to Toronto.More
