Went for brunch was good but not to put it in the too 10 restaurants in Toronto! Have been twice because I live nearby.

“Great French Bistro”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

I have had a number of meals at L'Avenue; brunch, lunch and dinner. The food has been consistently good, french bistro classics for lunch and dinner and one of the best eggs benedict variants I have ever had (and I have eaten a lot of eggs bene).

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the owner is usually there, so it has the real feel of a french neighbourhood bistro.

“Wonderful neighbourhood restaurant”

Fabulous small French bistro in the 'hood. Not an extensive menu but every dish is wonderfully prepared. Very attentive and friendly staff. Lovely ambiance!

“Wonderful food, lovely ambiance, will return”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Found this little jewel by chance but were soon pleasantly surprised, first by the warm welcome and promise to get us a table in about fifteen minutes, which they manage to accomplish on a busy Saturday night, then the service and discovery of fine French food. It is rare to find leg of duck and this one was perfect. Breaded chicken breast is not something you would crave but this time it was different and very tasty. Service is the best I've seen, always prompt and warm with an obvious respect to the customer. Interesting decor, seats about 35 so it is best to make reservations ahead of time. Clientele was a mix of young and middle age couples or friends, the mix a very good sign. L'Avenue, we will return.

“Very Accomodating”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

I recently celebrated my birthday at L'Avenue Bistro. The staff were very accommodating. I walked in and made the reservation for 11 after 10 pm the night before, just after the last customers had left the restaurant.

All my guests loved their food. The restaurant allowed me to bring my own birthday cake, lite the cake with candles and sliced up the cake.

My only complaints are that the restaurant was very busy so it was rather loud and the food took a long time to prepare.
