We very much enjoyed this hotel and will look for others in the chain. Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast on site was good with nice variety. Wifi was average. Room was large and comfortable. Hotel is good location with five minute walk to metro. Can easily walk to Chinatown, Kensington and the AGO.

We stayed with them last weekend and it was a great experience. Also the Concierge, Nancy Kornechook, was instrumental in getting a little surprise set up in our room before our arrival. A flower bouquet, some local chocolate from Soma near the hotel and a bottle of Niagara Peninsula ice wine. It was the wife component of this Tripadvisor user's first time in Toronto and the husband component set the surprise up with tremendous help and suggestions from Nancy.

The main reason for the visit was a Postcrossing meet up. The organizer lacked a good location to prepare postcards. We asked to hotel if the Mezzanine could be used for this purpose in the afternoon and they immediately were accommodating for the 14 person meet up. All participants were appreciative of the location and room service was provided.

The hotel was very comfortable, room was great, all the staff was very attentive and we had drinks at Victor in a very nice ambiance. The included breakfasts surpassed our expectations.

The location is great, we arrived by train at Union Station, walked to the hotel and did not need a car for the weekend.

We will definitely look at this hotel again next time we are heading to Toronto.

We just completed a three night stay at this hotel on Mercer street. First, from the minute we arrived, it was very impressive how their staff actually seemed 'excited' to assist the guest. When on earth does that ever happen?? And, this attitude pervaded every staff person we encountered at this hotel, not just the doorman.
A word to the wise though, this street is seemingly the only unmarked street. So, for those just arriving using their own vehicle, this street is more like an alley with no sign and extensive construction happening at the entry way off John St. for some new condos.
The street itself is the location for two very active bar/night scene activity. Fortunately our hotel rooms were located opposite Mercer street, so we did not hear any noise. The rooms which do fact Mercer can hear the music. Each room includes ear plugs, likely for this reason. So, if you want quiet, definitely ask for rooms away from Mercer street.
Also, the morning included breakfasts are exactly like the European style continental breakfasts-- a variety of very upscale, fancy cheeses, sliced meat, boiled eggs, French pastries, yogurts, several bowls of fresh fruits, etc. In other words, a very ample breakfast for anyone.
We would definitely recommend this hotel for extra-ordinary service, very nicely appointed, modern- style rooms, (great rain forest style showers!) and ample space.
Thank you to all for a great stay!

I researched (using Trip Adviser) and eventually decided on this hotel. From the moment we were greeted by two young doormen 'til our departure it was a super experience. The hotel is splendid. The common areas and the bedroom were scrupulously clean and the staff uniformly courteous and pleasant. The breakfast (included) was excellent and provided something for all diets and tastes. This was one of the finest places that we have stayed over the last 20 years and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who wants 5 star excellence an a 3 star price.

Room Tip: There was no downside from the perspective of the accommodations, but at this time (July 2014) the r...

We found this property on TripAdvisor. Having not been to Toronto before, we were most interested in finding a highly rated property located close to the things we wanted to do while in town - CN Tower, Aquarium, AGO & Second City. For this reason, we nixed the Trump and Four Seasons. This location was absolutely PERFECT, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were nicely appointed. The Jr Suite provided our family with a spot to hang out and relax when we were not out and about. Breakfast was of good quality and our teens appreciated that it was served until late in the morning. We would definitely recommend this property to family & friends.

Before the vacation (I and my wife) performed a thorough research looking for the great place to stay in Toronto. Basing on the numerous recommendations from TripAdvisor and Booking.com we found this place and were not disappointed. I'm providing both pros and cons of this hotel but frankly cons are really insignificant and can't break this amazing impression after staying in Hotel Le Germain Toronto. So let's be specific.
Pros:
- Location is perfect for visiting the downtown Toronto (just next to the Union Station and marina).
- Staff is absolutely great - friendly, helpful and warm.
- Rooms are spacious, modern, clean and extremely comfortable.
- Convenient table for computing and smart TV allowing all kinds of connection to it (HDMI, USB, video) directly from the table.
- Many other nice small things (like apples in the corridor) made with taste and fantasy.
Cons:
- Breakfast is very fresh but really too basic considering the highest average hotel's service level. Adding something like scrambled eggs would have been greatly improve it.
- There were some slight issues with the room equipment. Those were solved rapidly within just an hour after I asked to fix them (even though it was Sunday afternoon). Kudos indeed for the great service.
- Staying was little bit expensive but worth every penny indeed.
Overall my very warm recommendation.
