“Avenue Q - a good laugh”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

We first saw Avenue Q in New York City. We enjoyed the show so much that we decided to check it out again at the Lower Ossington Theatre. It is probably easier to take public transportation to the theatre as we found parking to be a bit of an ordeal. The theatre itself is tiny and consisted of folding chairs on tiered platforms. For sure it is low budget but I did not find them as uncomfortable as some others commented. I doubt that there is a bad seat in the house but our preference would be to sit further back than front row as front row was right on the "stage". The lounge area is very small so I wouldn't arrive too much before show time.

It would not be fair to compare the production to the Off-Broadway version. On it's own merit, the show was very good. The script and song lyrics are clever. It is good adult entertainment at a very reasonable price. The cast did a fine job.

“Fabulous Night”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

We saw "Avenue Q" and thought it was great! I give the performance a 5 out of 5, however the seating arrangment was a 1 out of 5. The seats were nothing more than metal folding chairs with a 1" cushion for extra comfort, all crammed into a tight space. This was very uncomfortable. There were five of us and we loved the play, but we all agreed that the seating was horrible. I hope that improves as your theatre gets more funding. Nevertheless, the cast and crew were very professional and I would love to see them in more productions.

“Great Show - Parking Sucks”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed the production of Avenue Q. The characters were spot on and the singing was exceptional. Even though this is a modest theatre, the seating was comfortable. In a small venue like this, there are no bad seats but we were in the front row and virtually right on the stage. Staff was efficient and friendly and the production started on time.
Our only difficulty was in finding a parking spot. If you are driving, leave extra time for parking. Read the signs carefully. Toronto parking cops are unmercifully efficient.

“great show, great evening”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

My husband and I went to see Avenue Q. What a great show, not a bad seat in the house. The show was really well done and it made for a great night out. Parking was no problem and we found traffic no hassle at all. Will definitely see more shows at this great theatre.
