“Not worth the price”
Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

The food was average, the service was terrible. It was not worth the price. After 2 visits, I won't return.

Reviewed May 25, 2013 via mobile

Service was completely terrible ,they couldn't even get our order right ,in fact one of our guest ordered lasagna and the wait order never came ,the service was just terrible ,terrible ,terrible ,we had to go ask to get more water and it took 15 minutes after we had finished our meal for the waiter to come take our pllates off the table ,and I had to go to bar to ask for the bill ,bottom line TERRIBLE SERVICE would not recommend to anyone

“Pizza or Pasta”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

F'Amelia has become a hotspot in Cabbagetown, largely because it is the only option for Italian food in the area. Overall the food is quite good but the menu remains very limited, pasta or pizza so no many options for people looking to minimize cabs. The prices are still significantly inflated for the quality and options available. On the upside it does have the feel of a great neighbourhood meeting place with very friendly and attentive service.

A little competition in the neighbourhood would likely serve to correct the prices and push the quality a little further.

Worth a visit if you don't feel like traveling across town to Little Italy.

“Average to good - resting on laurels, perhaps?”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Overall, this was an enjoyable experience but I could not say that any of the experience was even remotely remarkable or memorable...at $170 for two and supposedly in the top 100 restaurants in Toronto, something should have been. Salume to start was OK...a very ordinary chicken live pate, an almost insipid duck prosciutto, some fairly ordinary cheeses and an array of pickled veggies. The accompanying foccacia was excellent. Two pizzas...one salami, one white pizza with tomato sauce substituted were light, crisp and flavorful. Accompanying glasses of a Cesari Sangiovese were a good recommendation from the very attentive and pleasant server. All in all, a good experience but not one that I would rush back to again. Incidentally, the acoustics in the room(s) are awful....sound just bounces all over the place and actually makes conversation difficult at times. Could be that it was Saturday night and more raucous than usual.

I got the sense that they're a little smug about their success....a trap that many new and successful restaurants fall into...and which manifests itself usually through a lack of insight into the true quality and integrity of what they offer. The prices do not justify their quality of and push the outer limits of fairness.

Still, the place was packed, so what do I know?

“Wonderful - like homecooked but better”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Great pizzas, homemade pasta and very attentive wait staff. The wine list is very nice, not over priced. This is a neighborhood jem.
