Great spot for a pint and some great food. They also get in some quality live music. Friendly patrons and staff.

“Excellent pub grub!”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

Whether you want to drop by for an after work drink at the bar or enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner, this is a great neighbourhood restaurant to go to. The menu is typically pub food but it's prepared and presented in a somewhat unique way. The salads are superb and the pies are very tasty. I like their pulled pork too. There are daily specials to entice and the portions are ample. The staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is warm and pleasant.
There is ample parking at the front and behind the restaurant. There is a rear entrance.

“New Years Eve Bash”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

Been to the St. James Gate several times before and always found it very acceptable. Went there on New years eve with friends for the special bash. Very reasonable fixed price menu; party hats and favours; decent band; bubbly at midnight. All in all a very good do

“Good down home pub-style restaurant”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

For several years many restaurants tried and failed to make a go of it at this Six Points location (Dundas W just east of Kipling) but St. James Gate is thriving. A reasonably priced, friendly, laid back restaurant that delivers very acceptable versions of the old (and new) standards, it has become a local favourite. Styled as an Irish Alehouse, it has live music weekend nights after 9:30pm; nonetheless it is a good stop for a family meal earlier in the evening. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great Brunch!

“Friendship Force social”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

Our Friendship Force group met at Montgomery Inn to take a walking tour along Dundas W. to see the wonderful Murals.
At the end of the tour we found a marvellous little pub, St. James Gate. They had a special separate room for us to drop our back packs and enjoy a time to chat, eat and conduct a short meeting. The staff were so friendly and efficient. The food was good and the environment was fine. I would return again.
