Arz (Arabic for Cedars, eg: of Lebanon) began as a bakery and their outstanding offering is still a variety of Asian breads of all descriptions and thinness. They also have an awesome display of house-made pastries.( My favorite is their baklava filled with ground cashews and pine nuts). over the years, they have added a great deli with Lebanese meat dishes like kibbeh, wada adish (both meatless and beef), sausages and charcuterie meats. They now offer a full array of imported foods and produce.
Parking is a perennial problem and traffic backs up on busy Lawrence Ave. A branch is planned for Mississauga in the summer of 2014, which may be better planned.
