With all the yummy cupcakes on display, it is hard to walk by Prairie Girl without buying one. The cake is dense and tastes homemade. I am not an icing fan, but I do like theirs, especially the cream cheese flavors which are not too sugar sweet. When I walk home with a box of cupcakes, I get comments from passersby like "yum, love Prairie Girl" and "lucky!" Their special flavors are inventive, fun, and tasty.

A must try in Toronto. And they have mini-cup cakes if you just want a bite. Makes a great gift too!

Prairie girl bakery is simply a rich, sweet treat to be enjoyed on a Friday after a long hard week of work or to bring these cupcakes to a gathering. You and PG 's cupcakes will be the talk of the party. PG has a simple concept. Do one thing and do it AWESOME!! In a way, this is also a shortcoming at PG. It would be nice to be able to enjoy a hot beverage with their sweet treats. You have a choice of approximately a dozen cupcakes including their two treats of the week. Each cupcake has two sizes, regular and mini. The flavors are bursting with rich, fresh wholesome ingredients. Speaking with numerous friendly staff, they gladly tell you that PG only uses natural products, no dyes or coloring. I had a black forest cupcake and the red frosting was red due to the cherries mixed into the buttermilk frosting. Awesome! This of course does not come cheap. A half dozen cupcake will set you back $17.00 (including bag!). This ensures that the rich decadent treat that PG does provide, should only be enjoyed, maybe on a monthly basis, at least that's what has been working for me. Located two-three blocks south of the Canon theater, a quick minute walk from the Beer Bistro, Prairie Girl Bakery is an ideal treat before or after the show and after lunch. The fresh friendly service and the tasty cupcakes makes PG an absolute stop downtown for a sweet treat!!

I had been told this bakery had the best cupcakes in Toronto, but I can tell they have the best cupcakes in the world! Yummie.
You have a large choice of flavors and they are so smooth, tasty and creamy.
I highly recommend you go there and indulge yourself!
