“Best draft beer in town (really), food selection disappointing”

Description: We're a casual open space designed for communal dining, a hangout for beer aficionados, for families, work friends, and sausage lovers of all ages. We make great sausages with over twenty five options; from Chorizo and Bratwvrst, to our Venison with red pepper, or Wild Boar and black tea. We also have our Barese sausage, which is made for sharing, but that doesn't mean you have to. Like fries? We have regular and duck fat (all Belgian style) with 16 house made dips to choose from. Also, we love vegetarians = 3 vegetarian, and 2 vegan sausages. We have 24 taps that we clean every two weeks. Our draft list is constantly rotating, but always focuses on home grown craft beer and cider. For our bottles and cellar we seek out the best brewers and cider makers from around the world. Some vintages won't be opened for 10+ years. On the first Thursday of each month we tap a keg that has been aging for at least 2 years. We were honored this year to be voted Best Fries and Beer Selection in the city. WVRST is something you can enjoy with your family. Afternoons and evenings are great time with the kids. We have room for strollers and we don't mind if you make a bit of noise and have fun, we'll probably be doing the same thing.

“Best draft beer in town (really), food selection disappointing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2014

The beer is excellent: very fresh, cold, well served. Best draft in Toronto.

There is no service at the tables so the line to get the food can be really annoying. No need to tip too much...

As for the food, it's sausage-sausage-sausage. Nothing wrong with that, they're actually pretty good. If you could also order pretzels or a small cheese plate (nothing fancy, belgian style), it would be perfect.

“Beer and Sausage!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2014

If you like beer and sausages then this is the place for you! It’s like a ‘choose your own adventure’ of both. Neat vibe going on, nothing fancy. Food tasted fantastic. Great place.

“This is no ordinary dog!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014

If you love the tubular sandwich like me then try Wvrst. There are so many choices and I landed on the bacon wrapped Danger Dog and Duck Fat fries.

Along with an Amsterdam Boneshaker IPA, the choice is simple... Try it, you'll like it!

“Excellent Beer and Sausages”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2014 via mobile

We visited Wvrst on a Wednesday afternoon. We were very impressed with the Ontario craft beers on tap. Equally impressive was how knowledgable the staff were about the beer. The food was good as well we had the bison sausage with curry sauce and a bratwvrst on a bun. The fries cooked in duck fat were a very tasty indulgence. The price was very reasonable for beer and food. The one downfall to the place is they advertise as family friendly and even have high chairs but no where to change a child. Overall the staff, drinks and food were great.

“Great for "the guys"!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2014

There were four, hungry, Eastern European men that came here after the Molson Indy. We found enough tasty sausages, sauces, fries and beer at the right price-point and ambience level!
I have always wanted to try hand-cut fries in duck fat and they were delicious. (Worse than smoking for your health).
This restaurant reflects the modern Germany, not like so many places that try and pretend they are in the 19th century.
