“Good experience”
Reviewed June 19, 2014 via mobile

Went with a friend for a casual get together. We went to the Markham town centre location.
Liked the fact that you could sample flavours before you commit to a helping. Lots of choices of flavours and toppings. As for most of the frozen yogurt places you pay by weight. I found it to be good value compared to other frozen yogurt places.
I find since I bought a Yonana machine that frozen yogurt isn't my favourite choice of dessert anymore. It was a good place for a meeting rather than for the dessert. Do like the fact you can have a waffle cone though!
Unfortunately they don't do "$6.99 it's raining deal" as other locations do.

“Pick and choose!”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

This place is fantastic! I really enjoyed sampling the different flavors and seeing what they had to offer. The countless toppings to go with the diverse range of flavors makes this frozen yogurt place awesome!

“Menchie's is not what it used to be”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

When the first Menchie's opened in Toronto a few years ago as the fro-yo chain continued its expansion out of California, the tasty selection of self-serve, pay-by-weight yogurt was almost identical to the taste of the yogurt in the Menchie's California locations. A visit in summer 2012 was a bit unsatisfying because the taste of the yogurt seemed to have changed. Another visit last week only confirmed the change. Menchie's yogurt doesn't taste the same as it does in the California locations, it's also now no longer as balanced or as well blended as it was, and it's no longer the best in Toronto. At least two other independents are doing a better job within a few blocks of the Menchie's location on Bloor Street West in Toronto.

The location is still clean and still seems to be well managed, and it's still very busy even though cooler Fall weather has started to set in. The variety of toppings, including seasonal fruit, is still quite good. Some local competitors are offering even more variety.

I think Menchie's has a certain appeal because it has its origins in the initial rise in popularity of fro-yo. In Toronto at least though, I don't think that Menchie's is everything it used to be. The Menchie's fro-yo isn't bad, but a presumed change in supplier (or a change to the recipe or some other tweak) has made it just one of the pack now.

“Yummy but pricey ”
Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

Went on a walk with husband and son to Menchie's and as always, not disappointed with the yummy frozen yogurt. Many flavors to choose from, and you could taste test them before getting them (big bonus). Menchie's also has a nice selection of toppings to choose from, but don't forget, at Menchie's, you pay by the weight.
Overall it was yummy, but 2 frozen yogurts (which the containers weren't even close to being filled) cost me just over $10.
Nice treat but pricey in my opinion.

This was the first Menchie's I've been to, and while it provided a solid after-dinner treat, it was certainly nothing special. The biggest attraction is honestly the wall of celebrities that have visited all their locations. Other than that, though, the employees are not helpful and the vanilla ice cream is weird. I'd go here if you just want a decent ice cream, but if you're a "gelato connoisseur" I'd go elsewhere.
