My wife and I went to the Old Mill on recommendations from friends and we were not disappointed . The hotel had charm and elegance. The rates were fair and service was exceptional. Definitely we would come back and we would recommend to others.

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a three-day golf trip to Toronto. At check in we were upgraded to a King Suite on the second floor which was superb. The property is very beautiful and well-maintained. The service was first rate. We had lunch on arrival but were in a hurry to get to our first tee time. The maitre d' was very friendly and made sure our lunch was brought quickly. Breakfast next morning was simple but included meats and cheeses which we enjoy. Dinner that evening was very good but the waiter, although friendly, was a bit too quick for our liking. All in all we enjoyed our brief stop very much and would stay there again.

Room Tip: The suites are very beautiful though pricey.

we stayed at the old mill for our honeymoon. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. the service was top notch. The staff gave us good recommendations for dining and entertainment. We enjoyed a very delicious dinner and dance on the Saturday evening with a jazz band. The staff even went out of their way to give us a good table near the dance floor without us even asking. I would recommend this place to everyone. We will be going back again

My husband always stays here on his business trips to that part of Toronto. It is not close to downtown but there is an easy train link into town.
I joined him for his latest trip.

We arrived early but were given a room on the ground floor. Room was nice but I would rather avoid ground floor. It was a bit dark.
Room and bathroom are large. Decor slightly outdated but it is all clean and pleasant.

We had lunch outside in the garden. Service was a tad slow but friendly and food was good.
We also enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast which is nice with fresh fruit and cold meats.

This hotel will not swoon you but it is perfectly pleasant.

Room Tip: Higher up better I think

My neice held her wedding and reception at the Old Mill Toronto. Guests staying overnight with a weeding receive a 25% discount from the pricey room rates. We booked a queen suite. When we arrived at 3pm (for a 5pm wedding) our room was not available. The desk clerk immediately swapped rooms with another reservation and we were in suite 012 on the Garden Level. The beautiful room looked out at ground level into a wooded area (where no one would be walking). My sister's room on the 4th level looked out at the subway station. Jazz was playing on the music system (with a speaker in the bathroom). There is an electric fireplace for view (no heat) to add to the ambiance. The room comes with a jacuzzi tub and large shower.

The wedding was held outdoors in the wedding garden. After the ceremony the couple had photographs taken in the patio garden. A very romantic setting. The Old Mill is in two connected sections: hotel rooms and banquet rooms. Only drawback is that the banquet room and chapel section does not have an elevator between levels. Only way to avoid the stairs it to go outside and down the street from the meeting room level to the hotel entrance.

The reception meal was good. The only drawback is that the servers bring trays of food to the table and then serve each person. OK for vegetables but not meats with sauces. I have the mushroom gravy stains on my jacket to prove it.

The included premium continental breakfast was extensive and included smoked salmon, ham and turkey along with cereal, fruit, pastries and yogurt.

Overall it was a good experience and we are glad we stayed overnight.

If you're traveling to Toronto and want to avoid the mayhem that is the construction zone known as downtown, it's worth considering getting a bit further out to experience this hotel.

Suggest that you make sure you are in the newer part of the hotel, and see if you can upgrade to one of the suites on a higher floor. Really a very serene environment if you're looking to decompress from a day of work. It's directly on a subway line for access pretty much anywhere you need to go, TTC is efficient and consistent and the best way to travel in Toronto.

I'll be going back, believe that midweek rates are fairly competitive.

Only knock is the service in the dining room at breakfast, they don't seem that interested or to have much in the way of personality.

Otherwise it's a reasonable place to consider, especially if you want to bike or hike nearby. Genuinely a unique and beautiful place for a hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for #404 with the balcony.

My husband and I throughly enjoyed our stay in September 2013. The luxury room was gorgeous with high ceilings, fireplace, comfy bed and beautiful decor. The bar with live jazz was excellent and the food was fantastic. Everyone we dealt with was helpful. We would recommend this place for a romatic getaway!
