“Nothing Special - outdated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

Not the best Marriott I've stayed at.

Very close to the airport and highways. Good access to everything. Staff was friendly enough, but nothing special.

Rooms were a good size, but pretty old. Not bad - just old. Bathroom had none of the newer features. But was clean and adequate.

Nothing to really complain about, but nothing special.

Breakfast was a rip off. Would have been free in many other places. And 'free' was about all it was worth. Coffee was nasty. Was there for 3 nights, and overheard everyone agree it was bad.

Won't go out of my way to stay there again. Might try the other Marriott next door, because the Marriott chain has been good to me in the past. This one....not so much. Very forgettable, but not offensive.

Dear Leavethesn0wbehind, although we strive to exceed our guest expectations I apologize that this was not the case on your recent stay with us. During your stay we were completing our ground floor renovations which included a complete overhaul of our lobby, front desk and restaurant. Our new "The Bistro" restaurant will be open on January 11th, 2013 which will be equipped with Starbucks coffee products at reasonable prices. Our Courtyard properties do not offer free breakfast but the prices are certainly reasonable on our food and coffee items.
Our guest rooms were recently refreshed which included all new carpet, paint and mattresses and box springs in all guest rooms. If there is something specifically you wish to discuss I invite you to contact me directly. We hope to welcome you again to our newly renovated property now equipped with free fiber internet access for our customers.

The Courtyard Toronto Airport is easily one of the best airport hotels in Canada if not the best. The only reason it's not getting 5 stars from me is the significant lack of restaurant options within a reasonable walking distance. The hotel itself offers everything you'd expect from a Courtyard, there are often great promotions, the front desk staff is top notch (Especially Byron), and you heard absolutely no airplane noise!!! This hotel is a sure bet when staying near Pearson.

Dear Kevin C, thank you for your kind words on your recent stay with us. I will certainly share your comments with our team especially Byron. Next time you are in town please speak to myself or Byron and we would be happy to familiarize you with a local map that shows many restaurant within walking distance. Most importantly our "Bistro" restaurant will be open as of early December so you can enjoy a meal and beverage in the comfort of our hotel.

Great hotel to use for park and fly out of Pearson. Great shuttle service....parking on site.....nice rooms. Decent rates :) This is the 2nd time that we have stayed here and the service was great both times. Yes there are renovations happening in the lobby....but looks like it will be very nice when completed.

This hotel is fairly clean and comfortable with little frills or differences that would set it apart from any airport hotel in North America. That's not necessarily a bad thing. As well, some Toronto hotels can be fair away from anything besides the hotel or some corporate tower. This is close to a few restaurants and bars which is nice when you are there for a one-night layover. Shuttle was fine and service was good.

Hotel is ideally located...only a few minutes away from Pearson International Airport. They have a shuttle service that runs every 20 minutes from the hotel to the airport and vice versa which is very convenient. I highly recommend the Park and Fly rate!

The hotel is undergoing renovation. It looks dated and beatup with no lobby to speak of. Shuttle bus arrived quickly from the airport. Checkin was quick. My stay was fine. Room was big, quiet and clean even though it was next to the elevator and ice machine. Bed was the best for me...firm so you don't sink in but not so hard that you can't get comfy. You can't open the window in this hotel. You can't get outside air in the room. But the room had no odor and the AC was efficient and quiet. Biggest complaint..had a heck of a time putting in my contacts and makeup. Only mirror was above the sink with bad lighting. Had to contort my back to get close to the mirror and felt like I was putting on eye makeup in the dark. You can tell when I came from this courtyard... the Tammy Faye look because you can't see very good!!

Avoid the breakfast...cheap pastries and tired looking fruit..depressing room. Walk next door to the Marriot for their $20 buffet.

Dear okaycoral, thank you for posting your review of our property in September 2012. Our lobby is currently under a full renovation and although it is an exciting time for us I can certainly understand your comments. Thank you for your kind words on our shuttle and room as we did complete room refreshes on our entire hotel in April which included new carpets, new mattresses and box springs as well as freshly painted rooms. I have also made note of the make-up mirror as well.

With our lobby renovations we have moved our restaurant to a meeting room and limited our breakfast offerings to a hot or continental buffet which have been reduced to $12.95 or $10.95 for the continental per person with $1 being donated to the Children's Miracle Network. We are hoping to have everything completed on our renovations soon and hope you will visit us again in our newly renovated hotel.

Please feel free to contact me on your next visit and I would be pleased to show you around and will offer an alternative for the make-up mirror to assist you.

Kind Regards,

Anto Vrdoljak

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott, Toronto Airport on August 31 before a flight the next morning.
Apparently that was the day the construction started. They were tearing apart the lobby and other parts of the public areas.
They certainly went out of their way not to inconvenience anyone and were all extremely friendly and helpful.
The rooms were fine and the elevator area was clear. Great staff. Great place for a stopover before traveling.
Can hardly wait to see how it looks when it is completed.
