“Surprisingly good”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

I went with a friend to Volos, and we really just had picked at random - it is initially hard to get a bead on the cuisine - greek? seafood? greek seafood? Having said that, the food was pretty good - I had a soup which needed a bit more salt and a chicken dish that was maybe a shade dry, but to be fair the waiter had tried to steer me to something else. The service was absolutely amazing, the wine very good and the martini I started with even better. I would go again and listen to the wait staff this time!

“Consistently Wonderful”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Visited Volos for my third visit in a year. Each time has been a treat; food is consistently wonderful. Have tried lamb, orzo seafood dish and moussaka. Food is prepared to perfection and the service each time has been excellent. Have also tried dolmides and souvlaki and a tremendous mediterranean salad. I have tried a number of Greek wines which have always complimented the dinner.
Volos is a real treat; suggest you give it a try.

“Great Food / nice Atmosphere”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

we had seen this place a number of times while in downtonwn toronto and on one occasion booked a table (good job we did as well). This place always seems busy with alot of the crowd looking like they work at the nearby financial companies.

The food here was really good, i had the rack of lamb and it was great. Good lamb is hard to find in Canada.

Only real blip on the evening was the fact there was a shard of glass in my beer which could have been nasty.....the restaurant were very apologetic. I put this down to an error somewhere and not one likely to happen anytime soon if ever.

so on the whole a plesant place.

The overall experience was positive - we enjoyed every dish - inclusive of the saganaki for desert (? - our choice), the lamb shank and the calamari and octopus. The recommended greek wine was perfect and the service was attentive. Would give a five star if there was an authentic mezze offering. Would visit again.

“What a pleasant surprise”
Reviewed December 17, 2012 via mobile

You know how it is. You visit from your country of origin where you are used to eating the real thing and the good old recipes that mum uses. You don't really want to try tiramisu like the one you had in Bologna, Paella like the one you had in Sitges, bratwurst like the one in Nurnberg and so forth in some restaurant thousands of miles away from where the recipe was originally developed.

But here, dolmades taste like home and so does souvlaki, tzatziki, pies and so forth. A home away from home. Only difference is the plate is better presented and you have to pay at the end. LOL
