“Food can be very good, Servers need to ditch attitude”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

We have had Barque's food a number of times and have eaten on the premises on three separate occasions. The main reason we have mainly had take out is that Barque has a "front of the house" issue. Barque is busy. I have had wait staff on two of those visits, clearly overwhelmed by the busy and cramped nature of the restaurant, that have been rude and or dismissive.Certainly made me feel less than welcome. Their BBQ can be very good (although not consistently) so I do order when someone is going to do a "Barque run" for pickup. Management needs to better screen/train their employees on how to handle the crush of a small busy place

“Great BBQ”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

I have now experienced Barque three times: once, as a variety of dinner items (ribs, brisket and chicken), catered for a birthday party, dinner at the restaurant itself and, more recently, for Sunday brunch. I've enjoyed all three experiences, but I think the brunch was best in terms of menu choices, culinary creativity, and the restaurant being somewhat quieter and less jammed than in the evening. I had the duck confit pancakes with blueberry sauce and fresh cheese, and it was simply divine. I find adult sized portions at the restaurant are almost too large, but kids' portions are perfectly sized. I highly recommend this restaurant.

“Delicious BBQ!”
Reviewed February 10, 2014

First saw this restaurant on the Food Network show and wanted to come try some BBQ. Finally was able to visit over the weekend, and wow, the food was just delicious!

They open for dinner exactly at 5pm, and it fills up fast! A line starts growing at 5p already so reservations are definitely recommended. The website does note that they keep a portion of the restaurant open for walk-ins. I really like that policy as that will prevent the restaurant from becoming one of "those" where you have to always get reservations months before.

We tried the 2 person platter and I think that is a really good way to get started and try a bit of everything. We had the brisket, ribs, and sausages with the cauliflower, root slaw, and caesar salad. We think we liked the dry rub ribs and the creamed cauliflower the best!

So i fianlly had the chance of dining at Barque Smokehouse with a few close friends one of them who was here on a overnight layover wanted to eat bbq and he had heard about this place all the way in Vancouver!! Well said done we'll eat there!! Man this place is busy!!!! reservation is must!! While waiting to have our order taken they two small aluminum buckets with seasoned popcorn!! it was lip smackin good!! For our starters we ordered 2 lbs of smoked wings, 1lbs one was a dry rub and the other half was sweet heat!!!! both styles were just oh!!so yummy!! i personally prefer the sweet heat because i like em HOT!!! for the main course i ordered the sampling platter which came with a choice of two meats and two side If you have a really big appetite then you should be able to wipe it clean!! I had the beef ribs and the chicken thighs, fries and a vegetable chinese broccoli the ribs fall off the bone, smoky and just awesome!! and the chicken thighs were cooked just to perfection!! fries were dusted with some smokey salt rub of some sort but finger lickin good!!! my mouth is watering already just thinking about it!! During the warmer months they have a patio to enjoy!! Which im looking forward to!!

“Great bbq food!”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

Barque provides some of Toronto's best bbq food - the brisket and chicken are particularly great! The side dishes are all amazing and you can't go wrong with this place. It's often busy, so try to make a reservation.
