“Huge letdown”
Reviewed January 7, 2012

Was curious to try this concept out. Took tourists from Dubai here-loved the location.
The food however, was a HUGE disappointment.
We didn't want any appetizers, but the waiter REALLY tried to up sell us-so we had the mozza platter. The Buratta did not come in the luscious casing of a ball of mozza-but as a creme, in a dish. The waiter insisted-their way of serving it was THE right way..ok ok..calm down. But to top it off…it was sour! The waiter was so defensive to begin with -I didn't dare tell him...none of us touched it after that.
The others had Eggplant Parm.. apparently tasted ok..but didn't look like what I'm used to. Someone else had the baked Calzone=that did look good-and was good.
I had the pizza. Horrible! There was barely ANY cheese..not that I like tons…but the worst part was, the tomato sauce was SO acidic!! Like rule #1 in Italian cooking -the sauce should NEVER be acidic!
I had one bite-and that was it. I've had pizza ALL over the world..and this was THE worst, in my opinion.
What a let down. Defensive waiter, acidic sauce, and sour Burrata.
Sorry, that's a first and last.

“Too pricy for what it was”
Reviewed August 27, 2011

Our waiter was excellent. The food was good but pricey for what is essentially a piece of cheese. No real atmosphere to speak of. Food was very fresh though, and nice to have something light for dinner.

“We shall return”
Reviewed August 6, 2011

One of the best meal we had in ages. Real italian food without the unnecessary american touch so many other places have. The Mozzarella was amazing (try the burratta). All the dishes that our group ordered were nicely presented, the food fresh and tasty.
The service was nice despite the facts that we had to ask for cutlery after each dishes. Our waiter was friendly and attentive.
A nice touch, the owner, Lorenzo, came by our table to greet us and wish a happy birthday to one of our guest.
Yes, we will definitely return.

“Interesting Idea, Food better than Service”
Reviewed June 17, 2011

We recently stopped into the newly opened Obika Mozzarella Bar for a snack. The location is convenient for people in the business district and tourists. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, and there were few people at the restaurant, but the service was surprisingly slow. Especially since we only order a couple of cheese dishes. There appeared to lots of staff in the kitchen, but only one server. Maybe it was owing to the time of day. However, it was a bit disappointing. The food itself was quite good, but I would recommend a single cheese dish per two couple. Two is a lot of cheese (even if it was quite tasty).
