The best way to see Leslieville. The food was phenomenal, the guide was incredibly knowledgeable and very entertaining. From bakeries to chicken and donuts to icecream to cuban sandwiches to fresh fish, the tour really explored the uniqueness that is Leslieville. We were able to stop and buy products from each stop and came home with some really delicious products. Definitely looking forward to doing another food tour in another area of Toronto my next trip there.

My daughter and I took several of Culinary Adventure Company's Tours through Little Italy and Little India, I have never taken a better tour. We sampled the best foods in each area, talked with the chefs, were introduced to the culture of the area and just had an all-around great time. Chef Scot, who is bilingual and has over 25 years of experience in international cuisine led our tour. He knew all the local merchants and restaurant owners. Whereever we went we tasted the best of the local food and were taken behind the scenes to see how it was made. These tours are great for local Torontonians and visitors alike. I highly recommend this company, elspecially if you can get Chef Scot as a guide.

My husband and I took the walking tour of Riverside/Leslieville as part of a recent visit to Toronto. The meet-up site is easily accessible by public transportation. Foods we tried included butter tarts, Cuban sandwiches, wines, olive oils, local cheeses, fresh seafood, doughnuts, and much more. While the tour is 3.5 hours, the distance traveled is probably only about a mile, which meant it was easy to go back afterwards and spend more time in any shops/restaurants we wished. Chef Scott was engaging and had lots of great stories about his varied experiences in the food industry. I've taken food tours in several different cities, but this was one of the best. Well worth the money.

Chef Scott achieved new heights again, when I attended this event in July 2012
Amazing "chowda"--a family recipe with a twist and smoked salmon trout appetizer.
The ambiance and conversation amongst the foodies it attracted was captivating.

The Greektown tour is a well-researched and well-presented tour which requires only few touch-ups to perfection. Our tour guide was Chef Scott a food industry specialist. With a live passion for food, he also had lots of stories about the neighborhood history, liaison with businesses and kept us entertained. He presented us local food vendors, from stores to pubs and restaurants. This is actually meant to be a tasting tour, hence we started by testing olives into a Turkish store that sells what the family produces in Turkey. Second stop was to taste a delicious pizza looking like a mosaic of much smaller pieces, also original Turkish presentation and recipe. Third stop was a pastry family shop for some excellent Greek pie recommended as best in the area, however other similar ‘almost as good’ shops were presented. I will skip on purpose the so called wine tasting in a retail store, due to ON government monopoly policy. Fourth stop was to have a tasty sandwich in a snack shop, popular for opening early in the morning when pubs close and people recover from hangover; really good pork meat, probably grain fed and free run. Last stop in a Greek fancy restaurant were we tasted a plate of ‘mezes’ spilled with a good Greek wine. Unfortunately, not enough well balanced plate to serve the tasting purpose, as it was hard for all of us to get a bite of everything. Working more on better calculate the amount for each type of food on the plate could make this tour perfect. Overall, the tour was very good and we would not hesitate to further recommend it.
