Description: An Italian expression that means “little shoe” -- or the shape bread takes when used to soak up a dish -- Scarpetta represents the pure pleasure of savoring a meal down to the very last taste. The restaurant’s seasonally-inspired Italian dishes offer farm-fresh ingredients and clean, earthy flavors that pay homage to Conant’s heritage and time in Italy.

Expensive but really good food. We liked the polenta, creamy and tasty, and the duck was great. The decor is funky and caverneous. Good for business dining but not for an intimate dining.

Wonderful place to dine, funky interior, excellent cuisine. Loved the Jerusalem Artichoke soup! Highly recommended. Splendid view of downtown Toronto from the rooftop bar. Convenient parking right across the road.

My wife and I live in London, England and planned to go for a nice meal out in Toronto. We had heard Scarpetta was one of the better restaurants in the city so decided to give it a try. In summary: the food was average to below average and every course came out barely hot, bordering on cold. I'm sure the same beef jus was used on every course. I expected alot more from our experience.

One of the best places in Toronto for a business dinner, especially if your boss has a Bentley to leave just outside with the valet parking guys. The nightclub bar is a bit trendy and very noisy but the restaurant has lots of space to negotiate between bites. The food is consistently good and the service beyond reproach. The fish is always perfectly cooked and the floor to ceiling wine cellar is exhaustive. Too bad about the bread, which is amusing to start with but clashes with the food. A clientèle with some nice business suits and a little botox as the younger crowd staying at the Thompson tends to eat in the next door Diner.
