“Cute bar”
Reviewed August 8, 2014

We stopped in for a couple of beers before bed and were really charmed by how cute this bar is. Service was excellent and the beer was cold. We loved it.

“Perfect spot to work - with a cocktail”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

I found myself with 4 hours to kill before the train and settled into a cozy corner by the bar which happened to have a plug. They were very attentive and didn't rush me at all. Lovely atmosphere.

“High Tea at the Royal York”
Reviewed August 2, 2014

A wonderful afternoon at the library bar in the Royal York. We made reservations for afternoon tea and a rooftop garden tour, and enjoyed it all tremendously. The finger sandwiches were very good but the pastry tier was the star of the event! The pastry chef should be commended. Many times the tray looks lovely yet lacks flavor. Not the case with the Royal York!!
The library bar is a beautiful setting- the only down side was the small children at the table next to us. There are some places that one should NOT bring small children.

“Good Hotel Bar”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

Nice and cozy. Good drinks, cold beer, and great service. Didn't order any food but it looked good. Hotel's own honey bee beer is work recommending. Get a pint!

“Good atmosphere, great cocktails”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

I loved that their cocktail menu was inspired by Canadian authors. The interior is nice but I have seen better library-styled bars; a few more actual books would certainly help. What would also contribute to a better atmosphere is dimmer lighting and slightly higher temperatures! I have found most bars and restaurants in Toronto to be quit chilly inside, not sure why that is!
Otherwise nice bar, great staff and amazing cocktails. I recommend the Alice Munro-inspired martini!
