You know how sometimes s'licious can leave you feeling a little underwhelmed? Not here. The service was excellent for our party of six, and the food was lovely, fresh, and tasted great. The server was helpful with choosing a wine. The portions were not overly large, but everyone left satisfied. There was also good bread and dip on the table. I would say the only drawback is that the patio can only seat very small parties, a bit of a drag when you want to be outside in the nice weather. But anyway...bon appetit.

Eat on the upper outside deck, if you can. Wonderful views of the city and the street action. O&B restaurants never disappoint: fresh, creative and cheerfully served. I look forward to a return visit.

That is an unfair question Tripadvisor....You are asking me to compare with a few orgasmic restaurant meals over many years.
As guests for dinner of family who live in Toronto, we went to Luma at the TIFF Lightbox. In the heart of the entertainment district and with the Luminato Festival on, King Street was very lively. We didn't have any showtime pressure so it was great to sit on the balcony on a warm evening and watch the cultural landscape go by with a couple of those fancy cocktails and some honest G+Ts. Being part of the Lightbox theatre setup, the entrance in the lobby and up an escalator is somewhat unusual. The bar lounge was quiet but the restaurant was busy - however, a table on the balcony was perfect - our cousins must have influence !
The service was friendly and attentive - especially when I did my "Greek restaurant" imitation and accidentally flipped a plate onto the floor. The food was great - delicious starters including marinated tuna and salads followed by halibut, char, shrimp + lobster burger and striploin were wonderful and cooked to perfection. We could have stayed all night drinking in the atmosphere.
As guests it is inappropriate for me to comment on cost but you can see it online. I think it was well worth it and we would certainly recommend Luma for the food; the service and the atmosphere.
I can't say best ever - I am not that easy - there are only a handful that qualify and I am old enough to have had quite a few restaurant meals. Nevertheless, it was very good and if in Toronto, I would do it again.

Although we were in a hurry to go to TIFF, we had a great dinner at Luma.
Luma remains consistent in providing great food - using fresh ingredients to make creative dishes, with great service and a very flexible kitchen!

Our waitress noticed that one of our members was vegan, so she offered to have the chef create her with a special vegan main -- off the menu!

The tuna starter was good, very light and refreshing. We had the lobster burger - which was VERY good, a side of mushrooms (heavenly) and the gnudi with mushrooms, which is always so exquisite. The waitress kindly offered to provide us with a gnudi as a main rather than a starter.

*They have some really interesting drinks, such as the bloody caprese, for anyone who likes savory drinks (bloody mary's, caesar's) you would enjoy this!

Every dish was delicious and full of flavour. Had the shrimp and lobster burger and fell in love. They also have a fun cocktail menu that takes its own twist on the classics. On top of tasty well presented food, the service was very attentive and genuine. Will definetely be visiting again.
