“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2009

This hotel was located very close to the seminar for which I travelled. Enjoyed avery tasty veggie Pizza in Graffiti's restaurant. The bedding was very clean and updated recently. The bed very comfortable with lots of pillows. The rooms are all suites and the king bed was closed off from the rest of the room by French doors giving it a cozy atmosphere. All in all a very nice place

I actually won a nights stay at this hotel and my family and I had an enjoyable and relaxing time. Check in & check out was quick and easy and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Please be aware that parking is an additional $15 charge and there is also a charge to make a local call. It's in an ideal location; about 5 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes from downtown Toronto and 10 minutes from the closest shopping mall.
The room was very spacious and comfortable and very clean. Because the rooms are all suites, they come with a mini fridge and coffee maker and some rooms come with a microwave as well (upon request). We enjoyed their comfy beds and had a great nights sleep.
The hotel restaurant Graffiti's is on the premises and offers great Italian-inspired food at reasonable prices. If you would like to travel to other restaurants in the area, there are plenty of them north of the hotel along Hwy 27.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel to friends and family

This hotel is conveniently located near the airport and offers a free shuttle service. There is an in-house restaurant/pub which is convenient, clean and which offers good food selection. Otherwise, you are only a short cab ride away from a multi restaurant complex. (Milestones, Kelseys, etc...). Although not fancy, the executive suites are roomy and offer newer TV's and a large work area which often comes in handy. What makes this hotel special has to be the at-home atmosphere they create for repeat visitors. As I' ve stayed there on numerous occasions over the last 4 years, I can attest to the fact that all employees are always friendly and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. On some occasions, they even went beyond strictly carrying out hotel related responsibilities as they assisted in resolving personal matters. For that as well as for the value/price ratio, I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here on a stop-over and had a suite (all rooms are suites) which had a separate king size bedroom (french doors), a pull-out sofa bed, large table/desk for eating and working, free wired hi-speed internet. The bed was extremely comfortable, with many pillows, nice decor, and impeccably clean. The reception staff were very friendly and attentive, except for one (perhaps she was having a bad day). There is also a computer for use in the lobby. Room service; had a pasta and salad meal which, unfortunately, did not agree with me. All in all, would stay here again if the price was right.

I booked several rooms in this hotel. I started with the Web site that did not work well. After entering all the info, I was brought back to the initial page and no reservation had been done. I then called their reservation line, this was fortunate because they immediately offered me a rate that was $22 less expensive! But a couple of days later, on a Sunday, I was called at home by some person in what she said was an effort to improve the image of the hotel. I had to tell her that a good way to start was not to bother people, I don't do free consulting for hotels on Sundays (slam phone, I had other priorities!). When I arrived at the hotel, unfortunately the first thing I noticed upon entering the room was a very strong smell of air freshner. I thought: good my wife is not here, she would refuse to enter. After I got back home, my clothes still had that smell! The room was otherwise acceptable. I slept all right, but the other colleagues who were in other rooms complained of not having been able to sleep well, I wonder if the odor was the culprit. An inexpensive hotel, however you get what you pay for.

  • Liked — Inexpensive, near meeting location
  • Disliked — Air freshner smell!!! Very poor WIFI connectivity

Check in took a long time. Person in front of me given breakfast voucher for nights stay. I did not recieve one and was told breakfast was not included. Online reservation price much lower than actual price when checking in. Shuttle cost 7.00 to get from airport, much cheaper if I would have taken a cab. Non smoking room smelled like smoke. I think if they need a non smoking room they just run upstairs and take out the ash trays. Overall look of hotel is run down. I don't recommend staying here unless you are on a very tight budget.

  • Disliked — no true non smoking rooms

This is about the 8th time I've stayed here and we have never had a problem, but this time the rate is ASTRONOMICAL. We even had multiple rooms booked for the family. Anyway, we payed $156 bucks to stay here. When I checked the rates on expedia and other websites, it's 100 bucks today. When I contacted the front desk they said that the rates fluctuate and too bad. I called choice hotels customer service, they also said too bad, then tried to sell me something or enter me in some kind of chance to win something. 50 bucks is a big difference, at least to me. Needless to say, we won't be staying here or at choice hotels again.
