we stayed in room 10. The room was very cold. NO HEAT!!! The electricity wires were bad. The electricity were always shut down when we used the TV and dryer at the same time. When we asked the landlady to put back the electricity, she bacame very bad-temper. Her attitute was rude. Their room had the problems but she just blamed us. Ridiculos!

I was very happy indeed to stay at the Jarvis House, where I was welcomed warmly by Erika. My room was handsome and comfortable, and I enjoyed exploring the rich and colourful neighbourhood in which the house is located. The breakfast was simple and tasty, and Erika happily accommodated my dietary needs. I recommend the Jarvis House very highly.

We stayed in Jarvis house twice - upon arrival in Canada and when leaving it.
First we stayed in the room which was quiet and windows overlooked the rear side of the house so that we didnt hear the road and all the noise from the street. Rooms are very clean.
The second time we stayed in the room which was closer to the road, and well, I guess the students or young people were having party out in the street for what seemed like all night.

The four main pluses of Jarvis are:
very convenient location (in the center of Toronto, all sightseeings and shops are within walking distance)
private bathroom in each room (!)
excellent breakfast (fresh fruits, eggs, bacon etc )
very helpful and friendly hostess

The Jarvis House is a charming, older Toronto House. Erica, the hostess is charming and most helpful. We have stayed there twice and would not hesitate to stay again. It is in downtown, close to Cabbgetown and all major venues are easily asseable by public transit.

extremely friendly hostess (every morning she made us scrambled eggs and bacon. bacon!)
it really felt like coming home at the end of the day/night..

Room Tip: get the one in the basement, it has a little door that opens to de backyard, we used it to smoke.
