Owner description: Canada's majestic castle and Toronto’s premier historic attraction. In 1911, Sir Henry Pellatt engaged noted architect E.J. Lennox to help him realize a lifelong dream, the creation of an Edwardian castle on the top of a hill overlooking Toronto. It took 300 men nearly three years to complete the nearly to 200,000 square foot castle at a cost $3,500,000 (at the time). Situated on 5 acres, Casa Loma was the largest private residence in Canada. Sir Henry Pellatt with his wife Lady Mary enjoyed Casa Loma for less than ten years before financial misfortune forced him to abandon his home. The tour of the castle is self-guided. Visitors can experience the castle at their leisure with the aid of multimedia audio guides.

This house/Castle is not a real castle and the history is relatively short but very interesting, The audio tour make it much more interesting. The house and the garden are very beautiful, so as the view of the city.

make sure to get an audio tour of castle. it tells u alot more than just walking around looking at stuff. its a cool place. you cant go in to any of the rooms but just stand at the doors and look in. there were films made in casa loma so make sure after thr gift shop walk along the hall way to swimming pool to see what films. i enjoyed it here.

this place was great. they had a huge castle and beautiful gardens. There were so many audio tours that you can't even do each one. They had tons of rooms. If you are into history, definitely go here

Loved the fact that you can explore and tour the castle all on your own. You can even go in an attic area and see how the structure was made. You can climb up the tallest turret. There is no air conditioning on the upper floors though, so it was pretty hot in July! They have convenient, inexpensive on-site parking.
