A perfectly ordinary hotel. Very good location. OK comfort. It is clean. The restaurant is mediocre for breakfast. As far as I could see it has no noteworthy pluses and no serious minuses. Just a totally average decent hotel

Spent three pleasant nights at this perfectly located hotel. Typical Marriott in many ways with some twists. Lobby is small and not impressive. Restaurant for breakfast was overpriced and limited in choices with standard omelette station, bacon sausage, potatoes, muffins, croissants, toast, yogurt, fruit and danish.

Room was large and well equipped if a bit outdated. No couch but two large sitting chairs plus ergonomic desk chair. No minibar but refrigerator in room useful for storing medication the beverages and snacks we picked up nearby.

The hotel was at full occupancy when we checked in and we were given a room on the first floor (in reality the 6th floor as the hotel is built on top of a retail mall and subway station). The room faced the street but the windows were so dirty that we could barely see out. They appeared to have not been cleaned in over a year. Also, this floor is laid out with two large meeting spaces situated right next to the sole elevator bank. The reception desks for these rooms caused large groups of people to mass outside the rooms and made it very difficult and awkward to pass through to get to your room. At one point there were close to 100 people milling about in formal wear while I was trying to go to the gym in a tank top and shorts. Very embarrassing and inconvenient.

We raised these concerns to the manager on duty, Candace who was very sympathetic and remedied the situation by moving us to a different room. She followed up to make sure we were happy and she showed great care and professionalism. The head Concierge, Angeny Singh, was a well of knowledge and one of the most charming and dear persons I have ever had the pleasure to meet! She spent unlimited time gives us directions and recommendations and then shared her vast history with both Toronto and India where we recently returned to. Ask her for a "quiz" or two if you want to be delighted. Her 30 plus years at this location is a testament to her skill, patience, and longevity.

Tip: take the Rocket express airport bus with free transfer to the subway that leaves you in the Bloor/Yonge station located directly beneath the hotel and follow signs to the Marriott. So easy and you don't even have to go outside. It is cheaper and faster than a cab and only $3 a person!

Definitely worth a look, this hotel has fantastic staff and very nice accommodations. From the moment I walked through the door to checking out the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. My check in was speedy, the turn down service was a nice added touch and the room was spotless. Not to mention the bed was extraordinarily comfortable (I want one for my home!) with plenty of pillows! I only had a beer at the hotel restaurant, but again, my server was friendly and went out of his way to anticipate my needs. The subway is extremely close and there are plenty of taxi's available. The only caveat to this location would be if you are taking a taxi from Union Station, which was about $40.00 rt, you may run into traffic.

We recently stayed here a night. The location is great and the staff are helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean but a little particularly the furniture in the room. Over all a great stay!

This is a nice Marriot with great access to the subway (Bloor or Yonge), and an excellent location for Yorkville dining and/or Bloor shopping.

Would say it isn't the nicest of Marriots...a little old and not that grand. Stay here if the location or price serves your purpose...otherwise stay further downtown or somewhere more upscale!

BTW, the gym is pretty decent for those looking to do cardio and light weights.

We recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We found the location to be great & the staff helpful & friendly. The room was comfortable & quiet but some of the upholstery needed to be cleaned, particularly the arms of the chairs. It was nice having a Keurig in the room but the 2 sugars provided wasn't enough for both of us. The staff quickly provided a more adequate supply when we asked. All in all, it was fine but more attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the furniture.

Best check-in experience ever, hands down. Eleanor was the most genuinely friendly and helpful hotel staffer I've met--and I've traveled to many major cities in Canada and the US. She checked me in in record time, and when she heard I was a high school teacher just looking for a good place to pull a marking "all-nighter," she upgraded me to an absolutely gorgeous suite. This is probably the nicest room I've ever stayed in. Eleanor showed me where to get snacks and caffeine (which are crucial) and made me feel really appreciated. This is the most appreciated I've felt in years, honestly. Amazing how the "little things" she did just totally changed my mood. Thanks so much!!!
