We have just returned from Toronto and a one night stay at this property. Location is good, service by everyone we dealt with was pleasant, the beds in my opinion were very good, pillows good, the room itself is acceptable and enjoyed our stay. I don't think it measures up to other four star properties that we have stayed in. I would say that it is a 3 star plus but not a four. I can't put my finger on what exactly brought me to this conclusion but it is not a four star property. Having said that we would stat there again but the price has to be right. Like I said the service is excellent, everyone is pleasant and the location is top notch, subway right there, shopping downstairs, a nice place for breakfast just down the street. Easy to get out of the city just go east on Bloor to the D.V.P. You won't regret staying there if the price is good. We paid $125.00 plus tax through Hotwire.

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott on Bloor st from oct 11th to 13th. The location was perfect. Parking was too expensive so we took the self park option which was more convinient. Great room, very comfortable king size bed, feather free room, very clean on the 4th floor. View was terrible though. Front desk was amazing, the room wasnt ready when we got there so they gave us complementary breakfast for 2, Maya was very nice, great customer service. Overall the hotel is a bit dated but for the area the quality, price, value are more than enough.

We have stayed at many hotels under the Marriott banner over the years and always comment on the excellent staff. Once again we were impressed by the desk clerk, the bellmen and the young Front Office Manager.

However the hotel itself was not in my opinion up to Marriott standards. Our room overlooked the courtyard as many do so there was a definite lack of light, it was a long walk from the elevator and was next door to the Ice Machine though I have to say we were not bothered with noise from that machine. The room was very spacious with a couple of comfortable chairs and we had a good sleep in the king size bed. The bathroom was quite small and dark and needed to be renovated.

There was a charge for in room wifi which I resent in this day and age but it seems that that is almost always the case with higher priced hotels. However there were 3 computers in the lobby and, as we were staying for only one night, we used those instead of paying.

Parking cost was outrageous. $35.OO plus tax. We had planned on self parking but this proved difficult as there was a traffic jam right outside the hotel when we arrived and in order to self park we needed to get right outside again and somehow get back into the lot. So we paid the valet fee - Ugh!!

We chose to stay here because of its' advertised location in Yorkville but, as has been mentioned in other reviews, this Marriott is in a commercial area several blocks away from the charming part of Yorkville. It is however right above the subway and all of the attached underground stores so it is very handy to do a bit of shopping or grab a quick bite to eat.

Next time we visit Toronto we will not stay in this area.

Well located, clean, excellent service. Restaurant serves good breakfasts. There's a subway station next door. If you stay on a concierge floor, there's a lounge with complimentary breakfast and heavy hors d'oeuvres in the evening.

The hotel was generally comfortable and convenient. The staff was friendly and certainly wanted to be helpful. That said, they really did not seem to know the neighborhood well and had few suggestions for restaurants and cafes outside of the hotel.

The biggest issue I had was the gratuitous adding of a "DMP" charge to the bill. DMP stands for Destination Marketing Program, which is a voluntary marketing fee that is part of a Toronto tourrism initiative connected with The Greater Toronto Hotel Association; the Marriott has chosen to add this fee onto the bill without explanation. Luckily, I was alerted to this by a prior posting on Trip Advisor. When we saw this on our bill, we asked for it to be removed and that was quickly done, without comment, by the front desk.

Also, as others have noted, the valet parking is very expensive. I would suggest exploring the self-park option that is part of the shopping mall to which the Marriott is attached and which seemed to be very accessible.

Last, Marriott Bloor is considered part of the Yorkville area, about which I had heard many positive things. The hotel is itself, while convenient, is on main thoroughfaret in a commercial area, several blocks from what seems to be the "charming" or "trendy" part of Yorkville.

In sum, the hotel is fine, but not outstanding in any way. Frankly, I expected more.

Stayed here for our annual "sisters" weekend. Found it very convenient to be right near Yonge Street and very close to the underground. Breakfast was really good and the staff was professional and friendly.
Our room was very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. All and all great base for a weekend.

I stayed at this hotel upon the recommendation of a friend, and loved the hotels. The staff was extremely polite and the rooms were clean. Great place! In my humble opinion you can't beat this mixture of great price and awesome service.
