“A Toronto Gem. A must for locals and visitors.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

You can stroll threw for looking and smelling of everything food, stop in for fish & chips, grab some portuguese tarts or get meat, vegetables and all the fixings to make a great dinner at home. The meat, fish, veggies and bulk food is cheaper and much better quality than any grocery store around. We get our chocolate and bulk from the cute russian men downstairs. We buy meat from Brown's, seafood from Mike's or Seafront Fish Market and fresh veggies from Family food Market. The St. Lawrence Market was voted BEST Food Market in the world by National Geographic. Special note: if you are a tourist, please do not stroll along unaware of the local people around you trying to shop. get in and look or stand to the side and watch without being underfoot. The market can get very busy so visit at off peak times or pack patience.

“Lots to See and Buy...So Bring Lots of Shopping Bags!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

St Lawrence Market is a great place to visit for fresh produce, meats, cheese, fresh honey and pretty much anything else you would need in the pantry. It gets very busy on weekends, so try to get there as early as possible and don't forget to bring shopping trolleys or lots of shopping bags!

Sunday mornings are also great for antique lovers. Plenty of vendors inside the building and out.

“St Lawrence Market Toronto”

We went to the market on a Saturday morning and it had just opened for the new spring season. there were lots of meats and fish and Vegetable and goodies as well. We were in town in a hotel so we could not take advantage of the meat or fish. We ate at one of the small restaurants at the market and had an Egg and Pea Meal Bacon (canadien bacon) sandwich and it was great. Also sampled some local made summer sausage and some other sausages, salumi, and pepperonis. This was a great place to visit and walk around for a few hours and it's free (at least till you start buying all the cool stuff).

“Great slection”

Always have a peameal bacon on a bun. Can't go there without it. Then have a fresh fruit smoothie on the lower level to top it off. What a great experience to be able to shop and eat. A great family trip.

“Great Saturday Morning Culinary Adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

This is an excellent market - having gone to markets in NYC, Philly and other cities, I still love this one the most. It has a great combo of specialty cheeses, deli choices, meat and fish markets and it even has an excellent kitchen store right in the middle. There are of course many other "finds" so you can't just go once!
