Owner description: Kensington Market is just to the west of Chinatown and is the bohemian heart of Canada, based in a multicultural history it is now a flurry of independent stores, restaurants, bars and shops that bring the world's foods to one tightly knit community. You can find any food on the planet in Kensington Market. It is not an uncommon thing to find a festival in Kensington Market making the bohemian party atmosphere complete. Tip for Kensington, take the transit. Streets are packed and traffic is insane, parking is non-existent.

“Glad we did it, but not sure that we would again”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

Kensington is very artsy and cute place to be. Glad we did it once and experienced the area, but if we go back to Toronto, we may or may not go here. The people watching is fun and the garden car is neat to see. There are beautiful murals on the buildings and I enjoyed walking through the residential areas.
We walked from Younge/Queen to Kensington through China town.
Experiencing all of the areas was fun, but just to take a car to Kensington....you may be disappointed.
We did have a good lunch at Templetons, however. :)

“Fun hippy area”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

Nice area to walk around and look at weird things. Plenty of bars and food joints just about everywhere. On every corner there's a restaurant or a food stand that serves ethnic food. It's not a must if you're first time in Toronto, but if you had spare time why not. Definitely a must for locals though!

“Hot sweaty dump”
Reviewed July 2, 2014 via mobile

This is a run down hot area to walk around in summer. Shops have little to attract anyone, do not waste your time. This is not a tourist town

“My favorite!”
Reviewed July 1, 2014 via mobile

In the summer, the last sunday off each month, the streets are closed to traffic and are only accessible to pedestrians. The streets were crowded and the restaurants and the boutiques were all over the place, even in the streets. The smell was incredibly good, all this food from all over the world cooking around! There was music every where. It's THE place to see!

“Fantastic Place to Visit”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

I walked all the way up Yonge Street onto Bloor Street and down Spadina Avenue. Great cultural place with lots of colour. Loads of shops selling unusual fresh product together with restaurants from all over the world. Well worth a visit.
