Owner description: Kensington Market is just to the west of Chinatown and is the bohemian heart of Canada, based in a multicultural history it is now a flurry of independent stores, restaurants, bars and shops that bring the world's foods to one tightly knit community. You can find any food on the planet in Kensington Market. It is not an uncommon thing to find a festival in Kensington Market making the bohemian party atmosphere complete. Tip for Kensington, take the transit. Streets are packed and traffic is insane, parking is non-existent.

The funkiest part of downtown Toronto, with many cafes, second hand shops and some bars at night. Also many places to eat with a variety to choose from, with a lot of latin american food on offer.

Find the area dirty and smelly, enjoyed the eclectic crowd but not crazy about the fishy smell. The Cheese store has a large variety of cheese and the restaurants are good for take out wouldn't like to stay in the area for to long.

An excellent place to pick up fresh produce and nostalgic goods, such as records and clothing. It also features lots of delicious ethnic foods. Highly recommend it to lovers of street shopping.

Historically, this area offers a wide variety of food purchase vegetables and dry goods. It's the history of this area that makes it popular with many oriental type proprietors offering Asian bargains. There are a few deals here from luggage to shows. Although not as bid as Chinatown on Spadina, it does have a few good South American and Latin American restaurants and laid back eateries. A stroll through here on a Saturday morning makes it an interesting walk through this part of the city.

Great places to eat all different kinds of food and buy groceries to do your own cooking. Funky shops of all kinds, including the Blue Banana which is a super place to buy gifts. I love eating in or taking out from "Big Fat Burrito", for lunch or dinner. Vegetarians and veggie lovers will enjoy the sweet potato burrito. Yum!
