I fall in love with this place the first time I visited it! The garden is beautiful. Butterflies freely sap the nectar of the flowers and huge trees are covering the water streams. The garden is so relaxing to stroll around and I enjoyed so much my photography...
The place is not that huge compared with other parks but for me, it is more than enough, small but wonderful!

There are a chain of parks that run north from Eglinton Ave. to Lawrence Ave., each with their own special character. Edward's Gardens is at the top, with lovely manicured gardens, flowers and shrubs and trees galore, and usually a wedding party or three, taking photos in the charming environment. Head south along any one of a number of trails, and the view becomes more rustic. There is a stable with horses to ride, a coffee shop/snack bar, and as you keep moving south, there are BBQs along the side of a rushing creek, and picnic tables to accommodate just you or a crowd of you. you can lay on a blanket alongside the creek and listen to the water rushing over the stones. Keep going, and there are more trees and shrubs and fewer formal flowers, with multiple trails to try that are of varying difficulty. There is parking ate a number of points along the way, and water fountains in the summer. It's a wonderful place to visit and should not be missed.

Edwards Garden is Toronto's botanical garden. Tons of beautiful plants and trees of every possible variety in an massive park system. Edwards Garden is also connected to the Toronto Park system. If you have a bike, roller blades or a hearty pear of shoes you can walk from EG to downtown toronto along the famous Don River/Don Valley. It is quite a view.

As well, EG is more of less across the street from the wealthiest neighbourhood in Canada, The Bridal Path with multi million dollar mansions housing the elite. Even the artist formerly known as prince has his house a few blocks from here.

This is a great place for a family to spend a Sunday afternoon.

If you are a visitor to Toronto and looking at Trip Advisor for things to do and like parks, my first suggestion would be to spend one whole day in Niagara Falls area, even overnight and explore the Botanical Park for one or two hours there, in addition to the Falla of course.

Having said that, Edward Gardens is the only real botanical gardens in Toronto and my favorite place to go to relax for an hour or two--but I live 15 minutes away. It's not a world class botanical park but if you have already spend a week in Toronto and you absolutely need to find flowers and an hour of peace, Edwards Garden is that place. I have given it a 4 star but I am being generous and 5 for value--it's free.
