This museum is portrayed to be small but inside it covers a good sized space and is well thought out and interesting in general policing that goes way back. If you have a couple hours, don't pass this one up. They do require advance notice of your visit.

An interesting compact history of the Toronto Police Force and its notorious cases since 1850s. Photo opportunities by crashed police cars and old style police station. The highlight was the lively talk by the historical researcher who brings the exhibits alive , is so knowledgeable and clearly loves her subject.

You can make the criminal background check or vulnerable sector check here. The latter is more expensive and more complicated. $65 for 2-3 weeks, double price to expedite. Only money order or certified check are accepted. If you don't have, the nearest RBC branches are within 250 meters on Young street, one north, one south. Paid to Toronto police service. Once you have the signed form, notified copy of ID and the check, you can drop them in the collection box. Service is nice but a bit complicated. As long as you see the word vulnerable, don't make the common criminal check.

Washroom on the right of entrance. The museum is free. If you pass by, can walk in and have a look.

We happened to stumble across this museum steps away from our hotel. There are some interesting police-history exhibits and a couple of good photo opportunities. Admission is a free-will offering; for those who are interested in Toronto Police Service attire, a gift shop is across the lobby area.

The museum is located inside the downtown police station and is free. They do have a container at the entrance asking for donations to maintain it. The gift shop there is excellent and has many items that kids would like!!
