If you need a city break and wanna cool down, cause Toronto can get HOT in the summer, take a cab (around 15 dollars) or a tram (takes around 30 min tops) from the city center and have a great day at The Beaches. Nice houses to look at, volleyball courts, sand beach, play grounds, green areas, resturants. Its all there.

I discovered this place out of curiosity and was really amazed at this hidden gem of a place in Toronto. Wonderful beach and boardwalk area for a casual stroll and hanging out on a beach. It's like Coney Island in NY, but without all the loud rides. There are spots where there are many people or even calm quiet places if you just want some privacy. The views are spectacular and also highly recommended if you are into photography.

The beach is relatively clean, provides lots of space for lounging around or playing beach volleyball. The Beaches area along Queen street has lots of cute shops and restaurants, nice spots to enjoy a drink on the patio. Wouldnt recommend going there in the evening, it is very quiet.

We chose to spend one day of our trip to Toronto at The Beaches and we were glad that we did! This district is distinct from anyplace else that we had been in the city, reminded me of a seaside town. The place is full of unique shops and some good restaurants. We had originally decided to go for a half of a day and decided to stay into the evening.

Love getting lost in Kew Gardens, feeling like I'm on the ocean on the long beach boardwalk on Lake Ontario, watching cricket matches, catching a dog show, strolling through the great black willows, or just stretching out on the grass with a good read. So much going on here! East Queen Street restaurants just so-so, West Queen more interesting these days, but still a great area.
