“Good to go when you have a spare day”
Reviewed June 13, 2011

The Beaches are a good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city without having to go too far.

We took the streetcar from downtown, which allowed us to see the shops and restaurants along Queen St East leading to The Beaches. I have to say though, the journey was pretty long! About 30-40 min on the streetcar. I recommend taking and then taking a bus down to the neighbourhood.

The actual beach itself isn't the most picturesque in the world, but good for settling down with a book and some snacks or lunch. Many people walking their dogs and there is an area where dogs can run around. The water looked dirty with algae to me, so I wouldnt go swimming there.

I suggest to do this attraction only if you have a free day to relax and read by the beach. There isn;t anything else to do here.

“Good place to stroll”
Reviewed August 11, 2010

I live in Toronto and I think that The Beaches is a nice way to get a break from Downtown without staying to far from it. I just hate the fact that there are "No Swimming" signs on the beach.

“Nice place”

This is a good place to take a walk and maybe have lunch at a nearby restaurant. Worth doing to get out of downtown for a bit

“A BREATH OF FRESH AIR IN THE CITY OF TORONTO”
Reviewed August 10, 2009

The Beach area of Toronto is truly a wonderful little community of beautiful older homes and a very pretty lakefront with a boardwalk to take a leisurely stroll. Queen street is filled with quaint little shops, restaurants and pubs. In the summer the Jazz festival is a fabulous attraction with Queen street closed off to all the musicains and vendors for an entire weekend. The Beaches is one of the safest areas in all of Toronto and clean too!
If you are visiting Toronto swing by the Beaches and have a cup of coffee on Queen st. or just take a walk on the boardwalk away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown core.

“The Beaches - ok ?”
Reviewed July 27, 2008

Nothing special.. pretty average beach for Ontario, water is dirty so you can't swim in it. Old area with some average stores and restaurants.
Good for a bike ride perhaps and a walk and then go back home.
