“If I lived in Toronto, I'd choose here”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

I don't live in Toronto but if I did then I would choose this area. It's not too far from everything that I like to do. The neighborhood is pretty clean and the people are nice. Plenty of places to eat and hangout and have fun. It's a neighborhood I'd explore everyday by foot if I could and I have each time I visit my sister.

“Today, The Annex Can't Spell Slum”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

When I first encountered the Annex, it was full of huge homes that had been relegated to huge rooming houses. These once gorgeous homes were populated by grubby students from U of T and winos on OAS. No longer. These homes have all been returned to their majestic glory. Three and four story mansions you could have purchased for virtually nothing a few decades ago. Streets umbrellaed by huge trees One of which dropped red stuff onto my white Corvette. On purpose.

“The Annex has a little for everyone...”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

The Annex has great boutique shopping along both Bloor and Dupont, respectively, including great eating from across the world -- Ethiopian, Thai, Indian, Mexican, Japanese, Korean, Italian… With Christie Pits at its edge for family gatherings and playing -- the playground, basketball courts, community events & festivals, baseball and soccer fields, hockey, skating... Kept in wholesome hands Christie Pits on a summer's day has great music or food festivals and is beautiful as the sunsets or even on a winter's day as the children toboggan... The Annex has a little for everyone...

“The historical annex - Yorkville”
Reviewed November 29, 2012

The Annex is a residential area adjacent to Yorkville. The most attractive streets to wander are Lowther, Elgin, Tranby and Bernard. You will see fine, old Victorian homes. Walk the streets above from Avenue Road to Bedford Road and then back on one of the other streets. Also Hazelton Lane north of Yorkville has some very fine samples of early Victorian architecture.
