“Great for an hour...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

Great for something to do for an hour on a hot day.
Wonderful selection and collection.
They do not put everything out at once as the collection is too large so looking forward to going back and checking it all out!

“Place for hands-on experience with clay. Perfect time with kids!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

We really enjoyed the drop-in clay workshop. It's great experience especially for kids. usually exhibits are very interesting. The museum is relatively small, but special exhibits makes it worth visiting again. The Russian CZAR and Illusion exhibits were TOP!

“Specialized but fascinating museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

The Gardiner is Canada's national ceramics museum. It is a small museum but rich in its focus on ceramics. Ceramics are not a particular interest of mine but I found my visit well worthwhile. The permanent collection covers historical pieces from Asia, the Americas and Europe as well as contemporary works. The main floor covers the Americas and contemporary works, the second has Europe and Asia while the third hosts special exhibitions. There is also a small restaurant on the third which features Chef Jamie Kennedy's menu.

We took a guided tour of the special exhibit (which lasted about 45 minutes) and also explored the other two floors of the museum. The descriptions about the works and the arrangement was very educational as well as attractive. I particularly found the arrangement of works showing the import of Asian ceramics into Europe to be a revelation. We spent almost three hours and the time flew by.

“Spectacular Collection”

Such a unique collection - a total surprise and delight. The pottery tells fascinating stories from around the world. Visitors cannot go wrong with a trip to this unique museum - don't know of another quite like in anywhere.
