We returned to the Delta Chelsea for the first time in years. It wasn't as good as we remembered. The rooms and lobby are outdated and have a bit of a dingy feel. Nothing special here. The possibility of scoring inclusive parking for a reasonable added charge is a draw.
The Market Garden restaurant is a complicated, buffet-style self-serve spot. Large and airy, but the prices on individual items add up quickly to a larger-than-expected bill at checkout.
Our biggest complaint was the front desk experience. Checking in and checking out took needlessly long, partly because the desk was very understaffed and partly because every customer interaction we observed--and waited for--seemed to have complications. The staff did not seem particularly competent, though they were friendly enough.
Next time we'd look for another downtown option.More
