booked this hotel soley on the ratings on this site. was not dissapointed. it was well situated, we upgraded to an executive room, which was on the 30th floor- well worth it for the view (of the CN tower and skydome) and for the facilities of the exec lounge.

We arrived on a friday night (having been to a wedding) so made use of the exec lounge on the saturday morning - this was very nice, very organised, clean and fairly quiet. good choice of food - continental breakfast, no cooked foods.

sunday morning however was a complet contrast, it was terrible, there were no tables, nothing had been cleared up, they were running out of food and unable to replenish quick enough. it was noisy. it was nothing like the previous morning.

I found out there were only 2 staff dealing with the breakfast, they were such lovely girls, but under too much pressure, totally unfair on them. i wrote to the hotel to complain.

It was also the day of the Santa Parade- a massive event in toronto. that is why there were so many people there and loads of kids too.

we eventually found an empty table and had breakfast - views are amazing from the exec lounge.

the monday morning breakfast was perfect again!

we ate on the sunday night at the "Ruth's Chris Steak house" located in the basement of the hotel - not owned by the hotel - it was excellent - amazing steak.

overall - i would highly recommend the hotel. the staff were all polite and helpful, even the poor girls serving in the exec lounge, under so much pressure!

the rooms were spacious and clean and nicely decorated.

best bed i have ever slept in - massive and comfortable.

will be back........(not many places i can say that about!! )

Enjoyed a stay at the Hilton Toronto recently. We were told we'd be in a 're-furbished' room which was great, but there are obviously some 'un-re-furbished' rooms, so be careful)

Some observations:
- Reception nice
- Room roomy
- Bar has decent snack food
- Staff were fine
- Shower fantastic
- Breakfast overpriced, go down the block to the Sunset Grill
- Clean

To start with, Hilton Toronto is in a different league than Hilton Montreal, where I stayed 2 months back. Well located above underground shopping, this is a fine hotel for business travelers and vacationers. It's right across the street from the FS Opera. The best part about the hotel is the comfortable executive lounge with an open bar in the evening and great breakfast. I would strongly recommend this hotel. Only downside (someone had mentioned this earlier in the reviews) is - the rooms have thin walls - you can pretty much hear everyone walking outside your door even if they whisper. For the light sleepers, I recommend a room at the end of the hall.

  • Disliked — very slow internet connection in the room

Spent a weekend at the Hilton Toronto to do some sightseeing and see some baseball in August. Coincidentally, we overlapped with the annual Caribbean festival--Caribana-- that dominated the city. Many of our fellow hotel guests were in town for this event, but they were generally well behaved and did not impact on our stay.

The hotel is a little off the "main drag"--it would have been nice to be a few blocks closer to the water, but overall the location was not that bad.

We were upgraded to the executive level and had a nice view of downtown Toronto. The executive lounge was closed for the weekend but we received complimentary drink coupons (2 per person per night) and breakfast buffet vouchers. Due to the sold out nature of the hotel, the hotel bar was quite crowded, making it difficult to use the drink coupons without waiting a looooong time for drinks. Staffing could have been better.

Rooms, were comfortable, upgraded beds.

I would definitely return for either business or pleasure.

What a great place. We booked a package thru CANAM travel. It included first class train from Windsor to Toronto and upgraded Executive floor at the Toronto Hilton.

If you are undecided on whether to upgrade your room, it is WELL worth the extra money. The Executive Lounge is on the 32nd floor. Our room was on the 31st. We had a direct stairway to the lounge. The room was spacious and clean. Beautiful view of the city. Marble bathroom with telephone. Coffee maker. Work station with comfortable chair. Nice lighting and adjustable comfort control.

The best feature was the lounge !!

In the morning, free continental breakfast (rolls, bread, bagels, cereal, yogart, oatmeal etc......) Coffee (lattes, cappuccinos, etc...) Fruit, cheeses, meat. In the evening, free hot and cold snacks and free drinks (beer, wine, mixed). Nice view of the city from large windows.

Courteous staff, very helpful.

Add to this a great location, steps from shopping, dining and entertainment. I will never stay any place else in Toronto!!!!

This is one of the better Hiltons (and we've seen a few!). It is much more than a business hotel, with above average-sized rooms, comfy beds and good facilities and service. The Tundra restaurant is first-rate and the breakfast/brunch is good value. Even the mini-bar prices lack the usual greedy mark-ups. Staff are invariably helpful and well-informed. The location is good for downtown Toronto, across the road from the new Four Seasons Centre (opera fans, please note!). Don't bother asking for a South-facing room. The lake is obscured by other buildings. In fact the North-facing rooms have the best views - up University Avenue - especially from the top few floors.

  • Liked — Great King-size beds!
  • Disliked — Massage facilities were offered but not provided
  • Tips/Secrets — Book a north-facing room at least 16 floors up.

Great location, friendly staff, very inviting executive lounge., but.....I found the room to be terribly noisy. I could hear all the hallway chatter even though they had given me my requested end of the hall room. Even the 4am newspaper delivery jolted me awake as the paperboy threw down copies to each door. I am a huge fan of the Hilton brand and even though this hotel had many positives, I can't recommend it . It all comes down to a good night's rest, which I didn't get. Poor soundproofing.
Side note: Why are some guests so disrespectful when walking down a hallway at 3am, laughing out loud as they pass by others' rooms? I have always taught my children to limit hallway chatter to a whisper, no matteer what time of the day or night.
