I stayed at this hotel on new years eve with my boyfrined and we wish we never did. We stayed on the 32 floor. There was a dirty toothpick on the floor of our room, which made us think do they vacume? The bathtub anti slip things were BLACK and the bathmat was very dirty too. The room was small nothing special. When booking the "manager" she was very rude too. We filled out the card upon leaving and got a call from the manager who was SUPER nice to us. She offered us a free night stay, which was nice of her to do, but if the room is anything like the one we stayed in i do not want to go back.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Westin to celebrate New Year's and found the hotel to be very average. The room we had was small (easily the smallest room we've ever had in a hotel) but very clean. The whole hotel seems to be in need of a renovation, as the wallpaper and design seems a bit dated. The bathroom was also extremely clean, which impressed us.

The location was good. It was nice to be away from the core of the city, while still being within walking distance to all main attractions. It is worthwhile to upgrade to a lakeview room, as it was nice to be able to enjoy the harbour views. The lobby was large and impressive. All staff we dealt with were friendly.

Overall, a nice hotel, but nothing spectaular.

I stayed at the Westin for 3 days in December and departed thinking that this hotel is deeply boring and in desperate need of an update! My room was spacious enough, clean enough and facing the lake, but the decor was very early-80's and looking very sad and tired. Breakfast was fine (esp the made-to-order omelettes from the buffet) and the staff were polite and efficient (esp the doormen and porters) but other than that this hotel is DULL and BLAND! A great city like Toronto must have better hotels than this one...?

I was bit worried as I checked into this hotel. I booked a room for one night via Priceline. I paid about US$92 (including taxes and fees) for a room. Many hotels will give you a shoddy room if you have paid via Priceline. But not this time.

The staff was pleasant and replied to my request for a room with a nice view. We were in room 3331 and it was perfect. We could see all of downtown lit up at night from our plush beds. We took taxis to the entertainment district for dinner and drinks (worth it) and the next day to Eaton Center Mall (skip it).

Just returned from a stay at the Westn Harbourcastle in Toronto, Canada. We were in Toronto for a concert at the Air Canada Center so the location was perfect. We had a small room overlooking the harbour. Rooms are clean....though small. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The lobby area was pretty and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

This hotel is expensive for what you get--some staff members were quite professional, and others were, in a word, NOT. Our room had a lovely view, but was not especially clean, and the bathtub was a frustrating 'adventure' in trying to get comfortable due to the odd configuration of the tub and the shelf. Apparently it is the same in all the rooms--a short tub and a shelf directly behind your head. Everything costs (a lot). The breakfast buffet for two was $60 tax and tip included (there was a reasonable, but not great selection, and the pastries were stale). Water is $5.95, valet parking is $30 and self-parking away from the hotel is $17. Tea was not replaced in the room, but extra coffee was left--gee, thanks. The sugar had gotten wet at some point, and this is picky but I wish there had been real cups. At $150 per night, why must we use paper cups?

We arrived in TO by train, and the hotel is conveniently located to the station--we walked over. However, the concierge was not at all interested in helping us sort out the bus/subways. Eventually we walked back to the train to rent a car for the day.

After playing internet ping pong for a couple of weeks to see which hotel between this one and the Radisson (we like waterfronts) was going to offer the best deal, we found this one blinked first. The best rate (C$149 ex taxes) finally being secured via the Starwood web-site on a non-refundable basis. To be truthful I was wanting it to be the Radisson as some of the reviews on the Westin were less than complimentary, so we arrived with some trepidation. All this nervousness however was unfounded. The staff were accessible and friendly and not rude or inefficient, the air-con was neither deafening nor pemanently required and the room was clean and fairly spacious and not cramped or dirty, and in a great spot with a perfectly safe walk in all directions. Restaurant was pricey, but Toronto gives plenty of options, so we ate elsewhere. I must say that we are not "high maintenance guests", so we don't exactly put the peripheral services through their paces for the sake of it, but if you're looking for a reasonably smart hotel with great views in a great location you could do a lot worse. Maybe they don't do so well for people who want a pampering?
We'd certainly go back at the same rate and I struggle to reconcile some of the reviews with our direct experience. Is this the same hotel?
