“Maybe it was bad timing?”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

Stayed at this hotel during the annual Caribana festival over the summer (August 2013). The area is great and the property is beautiful. Was not pleased, however, with some of the staff and the mass amounts of the construction going on. When I booked online there was a very teeny tiny notice that stated that there was construction happening within the hotel and area...Of course, this was not seen until I looked again AFTER my trip was over. We had problems with a super slippery bathtub (even with the mat) and at one point due to flooding in the property next door, our water got cut off. Some good points though are that the area is prime with a beautiful view of the harbor and close proximity to food and shopping. Price was good for the time of year. The restaurant food and staff were excellent and made waking up for breakfast each morning worthwhile. Might stay again if the price is right but will be a little more cautious.

KurvayshusBrake,

Thank you for taking the time to compose and share a review of our hotel.

Disappointed to read that some of our staff was not at their best. This is not commonplace, infact our staff are typically our strongest link. I will definitely share your feedback with everyone, including the far exceeding restaurant staff, to ensure that we are all taking another look at the levels of service we are providing, day in and day out.....thank you for this.

Construction in and around the downtown core is definitely an issue. We are in full scale preparation mode for the 2015 Pan American Games at the moment and are excited about the outcome....despite the headaches that come with the process.

KurvayshusBrake, thank you again for your time and consideration. We do hope to have the opportunity of serving you again in the very near future.

Most Sincerely,

Greg H

Modern and comfortable. The renovations completed make this hotel current and attractive. The beds were very comfortable and the location and ease of access were very convenient for anyone looking to interact with the Entertainment District. Our family enjoyed our stay. Starbucks in the lobby, a variety of international foods just outside the door and underground parking made this hotel a win for us. Quick and easy walking to the Rogers Centre, CN Tower and the new Ripley's Aquarium. I would imagine the pool would be nice in the summer, however we visited in the winter.

Jim W,

Thank you for taking the time to complete and share a review of our hotel.

We believe our location is a great base for getting around the city. Combined with our new lobby, guest room product and the eventual completion of the road work, we feel this will be the place to be for years to come!

Jim W, thank you for the kind words and for the time spent composing your assessment of our property. We look forward to the end of winter, the beginning of summer and welcoming you and the family back soon!

Radisson Admiral Toronto Harbourfront is a good hotel located close to the harbour, 10minutes walk from the City Centre (and only 5 minutes from the famous CN tower).
The rooms are very big, with all the comfort you need,
In the lobby you can find a Starbucks: perfect for breakfast or if you want a coffee.

LaGioooo,

Thank you for taking the time to compose and share a review of our hotel.

Our location cannot be beat for checking out all of the major attractions our city has to offer! I like to think of it as a superb exploration base.

The Starbucks in the lobby was a key component of our recently completed lobby renovations....glad you enjoyed it! We are currently working through our guest rooms and when complete I would not hesitate to crown us the jewel of Toronto's Harbourfront....

LaGioooo, thank you again for your time and for your kind words. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the very near future.

I was a bit worried about staying at this hotel after reading the reviews about the loud construction. To my surprise we did not hear any noise from inside or outside the hotel. The lobby looked great and the staff were amazing. I had mentioned to one of the staff members named Jennifer that I was going to be proposing to my wife to be in the CN tower. When we returned I gave her a thumbs up to let her know everything went well. About half hour after returning to our room we got a knock at the door. Jennifer had chocolate covered strawberries sent to our room with a nice card congratulating us. We were very happy to say the least. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying the night in Toronto. Thank you once again for the thoughtful gesture and we look forward to staying at this hotel in the near future.

I will start off by saying I would actually stay here again. The lobby is stunning, and it has a Starbucks right there - super nice touch. That said, as others have mentioned, please be prepared to be in the middle of a construction zone. Thankfully it didn't affect our driving too much, but it did affect our stay. On Friday night, heavy equipment was scraping the concrete outside the front of the hotel - if you were in a room that faced the street/CN tower, it would've been impossible to sleep/rest/relax. When we called the front desk, they said they had asked the driver and that they would be working until midnight. Typically this wouldn't be an issue but when you have to work the following morning at an ungodly hour, it wasn't the best scenario. The hotel staff did an excellent job at resolving the issue. They moved us quickly with no questions asked, and upgraded our room to one of their renovated rooms. I have to say that the renovation is sort of "so so"? It looks nice, but the quality doesn't really look 100% - if you are picky, I would say that you will be able to see right through the shiny fixtures and attempt at a super modern contemporary look.

That said, I assume that in summer this place would be gorgeous with the rooftop pool facing the harbor. Overall not a bad stay, rates were extremely reasonable, and the staff was very accommodating. I would stay here again for sure. As a side note, the bed and pillows were incredible comfort wise - I'm not sure I've ever slept that well in a hotel before.

Room Tip: Take a room facing the harbor and not the street to avoid the construction noise. The room is much n...

CFO580,

Thank you for taking the time to complete and share a review of our hotel.

First and foremost I am glad to read that the team did the best that they could to make your stay more comfortable. Friday evening’s events were unfortunate and unnecessary. As mentioned in a previous reply all parties involved were tersely notified and we have been assured this will not occur in the future.....we hope to have these contractors stay true to their word. I am sincerely sorry for the disruption this did cause to your evening.

We are proud our renovations and are glad that you had the opportunity to experience them. As with every project there is a follow up list that does need to be worked on. We are in the process of moving through these items and hope to have the list corrected in due course....thank you for your feedback.

CFO580, thank you again for taking the time to review our hotel. I understand that Friday evening was a frustrating one I am glad to hear that you will return to give us another opportunity. We will look out for your when the weather is more favourable!

Most Sincerely,

Greg H
