“Excellent Value and location”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Hotel is perfect for spending time in Toronto. We were pleasantly surprised at the condition of the place given the relatively low price per night. Clean and quiet. Breakfast is what you get at mos HiX properties, sufficient but not gourmet. Desk help was very attentive to any questions and had good suggestions for restaurants and transit. Right in the middle of shopping and attractions plus easy access to highways and mass transit. Easy walking to shopping, CN tower, the baseball and hockey arenas. Lots of restaurants right around the corner in a couple different directions.

Room Tip: higher floors have a nice view of the city, particularly the South facing ones!

I have been staying at Sheratons lately but have gotten tired of not so good wireless and high prices. I decided to try this hotel which was equally close to where my meetings were to the Sheraton. it was inexpensive ($133 plus tax), clean, had good service, the bed was comfortable and the price included an excellent buffet breakfast. The downside was that the heating/cooling system is the old fashioned fan unit in the corner of the room. It was noisy and temperature control was vague at best.

Visited this hotel to visit some family members and it was a good stay. The hotel is within walking distance from several nice restaurants which is especially nice considering the fact that the downtown areas of Toronto seem like the are always under construction with detour signs everywhere. Trying to get out of downtown will take you a good 45 minutes and street lights that allow only three cars at a time and there are 50-60 in line at any given time. The front desk staff was very accommodating and our room was spotless. The complimentary breakfast buffet was of good quality. the only negative part was the parking which was adjacent to the hotel and under ground, with corners that were so narrow that it was tough to back up or turn around once in there. It also did not feel secure either. But this was a minor inconvenience and we fully enjoyed the hotel and Toronto in general

Overall, our stay was comfortable. The desk clerk was friendly and informative and gave us a room that had a better view (of south Toronto) and was a little more quiet. He even called the room to find out if it was suitable! The room was basic, with two double beds, desk (with coffee machine, tea/coffee, telephone) flat screen TV, closet and an ample sized bathroom. The room could have been a little more cleaner. Plus, the mattresses need replacing. Very poor condition. Breakfast included which was very convenient! Free WiFi internet plus computer in lobby with free internet. It's in a good area with lots of restaurants close by and The St. Lawrence Market. 10-15 minute walk to Eaton Center and Ed Mirvish Theatre. We would stay there again BUT they would have to replace the mattresses. No excuse for that!

Room Tip: We were on the 12th floor with windows facing south, nice and quiet!

The bed was very comfortable, our room had a nice view to a cute park, a big tv, breakfast is included. I wasn't a big fan of the disposable cutlery and plates, we spent three nights there and for two days they ran out of pancakes, and one day I got the la omelette, but I mean is a holiday inn express, so it was good, the service was good, the location was perfect for my needs, close to the market, grocery stores, walking distance to the downtown core. I would recommended if you need a place to sleep. On the down side I found the lobby a little bit outdated, but I mean you won't sleep in the lobby so it's a good hotel.

Went to see the Leafs play on a Tues eve and we had decided to stay downtown so that a long commute was not in store after the game. It only takes about 20 min to walk to the ACC from the hotel and even less of a walk to find a great bar or restaurant.
Breakfast was better than average and staff were very friendly

All the usual features of a HI Express - efficient check-in, great buffet breakfast, guest laundry, large spacious suite. We also scored a room on a higher floor with great views over the church and out to Lake Ontario.
An easy walk from Union Station although construction works EVERYWHERE in this city. We were able to walk to the nearby Eaton Mall and CN tower - although it was sunny, it was -6 degrees ( no wonder there are all those underground malls and walkways !! ). Toronto reminded us very much of Melbourne, with its blend of Victorian architecture and high-rise, and it's trams!!.
