The Madison was a great place to stay. It was tastefully decorated and impeccably clean. The location is central and within walking distance to shopping and numerous attractions with the convenience of nearby taxis and subway.
We go to the theatre twice a year and always stay at the Madison. The rooms have lots of little extras such as coffee makers, internet connections, hair dryers, security safes, etc.
It is right next door to the Madison Pub where we always enjoy great food and a fun time.

as we all get older, and i am 61, it is nice to know there is still hotel rooms with a touch of class. the location was perfect for getting around and cabs easy to come by.
this was our 5th visit over 4 years and we would not hesitate to go back again and again

the pub next door just added to the evening of theater, with a close to home cocktail or two including a great menu of evening snacks and a "Cheers" like group of friendly people, ages i would guess from 45-73.

as we own 2 Royal Lepage offices 2 hours north of toronto it is a pleasure to have a special place to go that feels like home in the center of toronto.

we will be back soon. - jim and sharon gray

I had the good fortune of enjoying a stay at the Madison Manor Boutique Hotel last winter and found it to be a very pleasurable experience.
You certainly would not describe it as your usual box hotel. The building has been beautifully restored and is very tastefully decorated. The furnishings have obviously been carefully chosen for both comfort and aesthetics.
The central location is absolutely ideal if you plan to tour around the city. Toronto is such a large city, that it would be impossible to chose one location that is close to everything. However the Madison is close to many of the attractions and those that are beyond walking are easily accessable by transit, which is only minutes away.
I was pleasantly surprised with the continental breakfast. They had a fairly good variety of breakfast items to choose from including sweet pastries, bagels, cereal, and boiled eggs.
The rates were reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I will definitely recommend the Madison as a viable alternative to the concrete towers offered up by the larger hotels.

The Madison Manor in Toronto is not at all what I expected.

The colorful brochure gives one the impression of a quaint turn of the century brownstone in a a quiet area. Actually, the Madison Manor is, surrounded by fraternity houses and is directly across the street from a Budhist temple.

It is located on a rather noisy and dirty one way side street off Bloor Street West. The property itself is clean and well kept, but lacks the convenience(s) of a major hotel.

We experienced a heating problem in our room and sweltered through the night. It is impossible to reach any hotel personel after 11:00PM. The problem was not corrected until the following day.

On the Thursday and Friday evening(s) we spent there we were also disappointed to find out that the adjoining restaurant and bar owned by the Madison was the local hang out for the 21-23 college crowd. The noise and congestion went on till late. If you are over 30, perhaps a more conventional hotel may be more to your liking.

My wife and I were in Toronto to see "The Producers". The entertainment area is not within walking distance of the hotel, so plan on either becoming familiar with the city's subway system or hiring a cab. Parking is very expensive in the downtown area.

Bloor Street West, we found to be quite dirty and run down and lacked any restaurants that we were interested in frequenting.

In conclusion, If your going to Toronto to see a show or sporting event choose a name hotel down town and leave the Madison for the kids and parents of students at the University.
