wow what an amazing hotel. We were so warmly greeted and they even upgraded our room to a suite. We had such a gorgeous room , we felt like royalty. That night the concierge recommended a fantastic restaurant (JUMP) that we feel in love with. The surroundings, and friendliness made this weekend such a beautiful one. Hope to be back soon.

Travelling home for the holidays, we recently stayed in the King Eddy for a few nights. Absolutely amazing. Everyone was very nice and the room was enormous. WiFi was only in the lobby but the lobby is big enough that it feels quiet (not like the hustle and bustle of the Royal York lobby). And what better way to spend holidays than sitting beside a 2 storey Christmas tree.

We never tried the food (it is expensive) but their restaurant is considered one of the best places for afternoon tea in the city.

The King Eddy is walking distance to the train station, the Eaton Centre and most importantly... the Hockey Hall of Fame. There are also 3 Tim Hortons within a block radius (and all are busy).

When we lived in Toronto, we once stayed at the King Eddy for fun and it was great. If we ever win the lottery and move back to Toronto, i'd vote we live at the hotel.

Room Tip: Look for the "book 2 nights, get the third for free" deal. It worked out to $85 per night...

About 100 yards from the King subway stop at King and Yonge, the venerable old King Eddy is delightfully quiet at night – as it’s in the financial district, which pretty much empties out after 6 pm. The foyer with its 5 storey atrium is impressive – very old world. For excitement, the Queen Street West strip and the Entertainment District is a pleasant 15 minute walk north and west. The room itself was very large – lots of seating area – with high quality bed, and best of all, blissfully quiet.

The front desk staff was accomodating to our needs and upgraded us to the deluxe double queen room, which has two queen beds, and a fairly spacious living room area where we were able to spread out lugguage with space left to spare. The high ceilings added to the comfort. The bathroom is a bit dated and dim. There was a drainage issue in the shower. A nice drugstore and a couple of cafes are located outside the hotel within walking distance, so pretty convenient. Not the best out there, but it does the job. Just very old and needs a face lift.

Room Tip: The Deluxe Double Queen Room has sufficient space for a young family.

thankfully i booked through priceline so i could afford this luxury hotel. it's old school charm and makes you feel like you're in Dynasty! :) they upgraded us for free to a room with 2 beds & it was also a corner room with a beautiful view of the city. the room was also very spacious with high ceilings. the bathroom had 2 time zones i think?! ;) the only complaint is that the price includes NOTHING. everything is extra...except the elevator ride. thank you priceline for helping me to be able to afford to spoil myself for a change! :)

Dear valued guest:

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your visit and that the complimentary room upgrade proved favorable for you. I am, however, sorry to hear about the one complaint that the price included nothing. The room rate is typically valid only for a night stay unless a package is booked that will include meals and other services of the hotel. I do hope that you get another opportunity to stay at the hotel to pamper yourself once again.

We look forward to your next visit.

Sincerely,
