Have been using this hotel for the many years, once or twice a year for short business trips. Convenient shuttle service to Downsview run by friendly staff. Walking distance to the Yorkdale mall. The hotel has two towers, the East Tower is getting tired , don't like the rooms facing the inside of the hotel. Internet this time was ok although had to keep logging in frequently. Good breakfast and not bad restaurant food. Overall OK for business stay, if you get a good rate.

You always seem to know when you're in a Holiday Inn hotel.
The location was convenient for a wedding we were going to.
The parking lot is very weird to get into. No real signs to direct you to the front of the hotel.
There are barriers so we just parked in the back. We didn't have much luggage so it wasn't a big deal.
No safes in the room. Safes available at the front desk and they look like they're 50yrs old.
The drink machine on our floor was extremely noisy (Luckily we were not near it).
The elevators take forever (I waited over 10min. one time).
The room is adequate. One sink (Not good for weddings/makeup).
The shower was funky to adjust the heat.
They had midget pillows on the bed. They do give you 4 pillows. 2 of which are rock hard.
I never saw such small pillows on a hotel bed.
The heater was roasting set at 22 (71.6).
No closed cupboard so everything is out in the open.
The hallways feel old.
The hotel is clean and the front desk staff are helpful and pleasant.
Don't expect any offers to help with luggage.
The challenge here is that at the special event rate of $129.00 this hotel is overpriced.
So the regular rate would be way too high.
It's Holiday Inn to the max.
It is right across from the Yorkdale Mall which is probably the best mall in Toronto.
If you need to be downtown there are much better options.

Room Tip: Make sure you're not near elevators or drink machines. This is an older hotel. It really matters...

We stayed at the hotel to participate in a family event. We booked two rooms since the room with the 2 double beds wasn't big enough for a family of four with teenagers. The kids stayed in the room with the double beds. We had a king size bed. Our stay was very nice. Both rooms were clean, smelled nice, and had very nice bedding and pillows. Our room had a couch and coffee table. Prior to the evening event, my family (without me) went to visit the Royal Ontario Museum. I stayed and relaxed in the room. Room service wasn't available but I ordered lunch by phone and went downstairs to pick it up. I had the Harira soup and some bruschetta with tomato and feta cheese. I was very surprised by the quality of the food. It was delicious. As a former food professional, I wasn't expecting such high quality food but it was great! Also important was that it was right off of the 401 Highway. It was close to my family and the event. Additionally, we came from Washington, DC so the closeness to the highway and ease of entry to get back on to go home was really important. My only complaint was that our room was overlooking the pool and you would get a strong smell of chlorine. It didn't bother me but it bothered my husband. Other than that, a very nice experience for the money. We will be staying here for other Toronto family visits in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the pool side so you don't get the chlorine smell.

Great location, being across from the Yorkdale mall certainly made the hotel not too bad, but the room itself was dull, older, and the hotel can use a face lift both inside and out. The room did have an odour to it, and the room was over priced for a boring, and standard hotel. did not like having to walk through the gaming area where it tennis balls were flying at you, but it was nice to see they had some activities for the guests.

This was one of the worst rooms I've stayed in. I believe there are 2 towers in this hotel, one apparently has been renovated, but the old side I stayed in was unacceptable. It looked like 1974 inside. Black mold in bathroom, dirty shower, the room smelled of smoke and air freshener detergent. Bedding was old and dirty, furniture was outdated and worn. Not worth the price. Lobby is dated, simple breakfast buffet is $20! Really dissapointed in this hotel.

Right across the street from Yorkdale Mall, one of the biggest you'll find is the hotel. Very average looks but clean. Service was good, parking only 9$/day, very good for Toronto hotels.

On the poor side was the elevators from the lobby ok, but you plan an activity before they come to your floor. As well, very surprising, no pay per view on the TV.

However for a quick weekend very reasonable and fine.

Upon check-in I was greeted very warmly by the hotel staff but was a little disappointed that expedia had listed the hotel as having valet parking and this was not the case. I wasn't overly comfortable with the fact that they only had outdoor parking and was just pleased that there wasn't snow in the forecast.

The room was lovely and seemed to have been recently updated. I was very happy it wasn't one that overlooked the pool area as I feared this would be disruptive to me. I was very pleased with room service as it was delivered pretty promptly and was quite delicious.

I had a mani-pedi and facial at the spa and was very happy with the services. The spa staff was professional and the experience was very relaxing. They helped me choose a facial that would best address my skin and were thorough in their attention to detail.

There's not too much to do within walking distance but if you have a car (and don't mind parking outside) I would recommend this hotel!
