Stayed for 2 nights in Oct. Fast check-in, with 3 people on staff.
What a treat to enter my room and find a real suite. Good layout, too, w/ the bed in the back, buffering any sound from the hallways.
A glorious bed with 4 down pillows. En suite bathroom, w/ a long marble counter and changing space, leading to the bathroom. Some of the doors open awkwardly, like the bathroom door that banged into the toilet and the closet door that banged into another open one. Not a big deal but you had to always close 1 door before opening another.
In the living area, a wet bar with marble countertop, sink, coffeemaker and mini-fridge. Although I could not find the promised free popcorn. Hmmmm...
Complimentary breakfast can be ordered in. Wonderful not to change and fix my hair just to go down to breakfast. However, on both days they messed up my order, forgetting juice altogether and mixing up the muffin choices.
Furniture is a slightly worn, but serviceable. Two excellent work areas, a large desk in the living room facing the TV, and another desk in the bedroom, next to the bed.
Caveat about lounging in your skivvies: the staff are very eager to enter your room for various reasons (turn-down service, wash your coverlet). The 1st night, I'd just checked-in and was eating supper (not good) in bed at 8pm. The door flew open, the maid bustled in wanting to turn down my bed. Luckily, I was still half decently dressed. The next morning, at 8am, again the door opened without a knock and in marched another maid wanting to divest my bed of the coverlet to launder it. Uh, okay, but I was still using it... After the 2nd incident, I made sure to hang the Do Not Disturb sign every time I stepped in my room.
Location is good, being only a block away from Yonge.
Restaurant tip: Only a few blocks away, you will find an excellent Thai restaurant called "Young Thailand". If you can overlook the bad service, you will love the great food.
