Great hotel that is located off the main street, but still in close proximity to shops, restaurants, and the hustle and bustle of town.

The hotel really tries to showcase as a first class hotel even though the building is older. The front desk is very friendly and helpful. All the rooms are decked out as suites with a separate living room from the bedroom. Both rooms have flat screen tvs and aveda toiletries. They even have snacks like popcorn, candy, etc for you to choose from. It's part of their snack bar, but definitely different than just the run of the mill hotel. In the evening, they bring up some complimentary cookies and bottled water. It was also our anniversary and they left a box of chocolates to show that they were thinking of us and had a pleasant stay. Their parking garage is one of the cheapest parking prices in the city too.

The only downside I could say is that they don't have a pool, the walls can be thin (but with the living room, it blocks out the noise), no breakfast buffet, and sometimes waiting a long time for the elevator. But, this are only minor things.

I, my wife, and daughter booked the Cambridge Suites while enjoying a two day stay in Toronto. We have stayed in Toronto many times and thought we would try a different stay this time. We thought the Cambridge Suites was excellent. We have stayed before at the Intercontinental, Royal York, Delta, etc and never had too much problems. But in my opinion, Cambridge Suites was by far superior. Generally reasonably priced (for downtown Toronto), great location, and lovely large rooms. If you are travelling with a child the nice thing is that you can plonk your child in the pull-out sofa bed, turn on her own 37" LCD TV, shut the doors to your room, lie out on your king bed and watch your own 37" LCD TV. Ahhh, heaven. Strongly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel last weekend to watch the Redsox play the jays.

The hotel is in a very good location. You can walk either way on richmond st and find restaurants and bars. About a 5-7 minute walk will get you to richmond and john st where there is alot of action.

The hotel itself is very clean and the people were very nice and helpful. Parking is right underneath the hotel for $18 a day. Our room was great. we were in suite 1503. It really has an apartment feel to it with two big flat screen tv's, nice size bathroom and big bedroom. The bed was a little harder than i usually like but had no issues with it or the temperature in the room. They do have a sink, microwave and refrigerator in the room as well. Wife and I really enjoyed our room and would stay there again.

two small small minor things. one...the elevators take forever to get to you and then they stop on every floor. two, in the business center you have to pay for internet access. its hardly a complaint at all, just putting it out there

would stay here again if we go to Toronto!

I'd pretty much agree with all the positive comments from the other reviewers.

The hotel doesn't actually look all that wonderful on approaching it, but is one of those places that is much, much nicer inside.

Parking is very convenient, right next to the hotel and there is an elevator directly into the hotel from the parking garage.

We tried to check in early, but our room was not ready, but the receptionist (who was most charming and professional) said that she would call us when it was ready and that she would 'have a rush put on it'. Past experience in such circumstances made me think that she probably had good intentions, but would forget - but she called an hour and a half before the designated check in time of 4.00pm to inform us our room was infact ready - I was definitely impressed.

When we did check in our room was lovely - we had a top floor corner suite with lots of windows and everything was just as other reviewers have described.

There was also an invitation to the Manager's Reception that evening (every Wednesday) where free drinks and hot and cold snacks are provided, which was a nice surprise also.

Location is excellent too. I had thought that maybe the riverfront area of Toronto might be preferable, but after exploring I think that this location is the best and within pretty easy walking distance of most things.

I would definitely stay here again.

The Cambridge Suites is tough to top. My wife and I just returned from a four-night stay and enjoyed the hotel. The only surprise was that I thought breakfast was included. It was not -- perhaps because we booked through hotels.com and got the room for $168 a night. My advice: Go for the deal, skip the hotel's $20 breakfast, and eat at the place across the street (I forgot its name), which advertises a decent breakfast for $3.99. Or there's a McDonald's a quarter-block away. Or eat in the room (plates and silverware are in the cupboard).

My only other complaint was that internet access was $10 a day -- fine if you're traveling on a business expense account (as many of the guests clearly are), but steep for pleasure seekers like us who have gotten used to reading restaurant reviews while traveling, not beforehand.

But the suite's layout was perfect -- two new wide-screen TVs, 70 cable channels, beautiful bathroom, comfortable living room area, fridge and microwave (with free popcorn). The king bed was oh so comfortable. The place was super quiet. I used the small gym's free weights every morning after a run. There's a whirlpool and sauna too.

And the location is perfect -- not immediately next to anything of interest, but very close to pretty much everything you'd want to see.

All in all, an experience somewhere between "above average" and "excellent." We'd stay again and recommend it.
