Brilliantly appointed suite with a nice king bed and very comfortable living area. Paid $140 per night through Expedia, $27 additional for parking per day. Modest fitness center with a nice view outside from the hot tub (everything worked).

The best part though was location - we walked 5 minutes to Ed Mirvish theater (formerly Pantageous), 20 minutes to CN Tower, 40 minutes to Chinatown.

Didn't eat at the restaurant. We called fro breakfast but it was room delivery of their meager buffet for $20 - we passed.

Dear Stephan W,

Great review - thank you. Thank you for making the short trip from Guelph to enjoy some time in Toronto. I am pleased that you recieved excellent value and appreciated your thoughtful comments.

We recently started our Fitness Centre renovations. While the facility was already one of the best hotel gyms in the city, we are in the process of creating twice as much floor space (and twice as many 22nd floor views!) In addition we offer complimentary passes to Goodlife Fitness right next door. I hope we see you again soon. If you wish to check out our renovations, they will be completed by November 1.

Sincerely, Tim

Cambridge Suites is unusually nestled into the corner of Richmond and Victoria, around the corner from the Eaton Centre and right in the downtown core-close to everything that a tourist would need or want to access in Toronto.
My boyfriend and I have stayed there multiple times-service has been great but we mostly go for the accommodations. The suite layout and amenities that you get for the price is fantastic. We've always had a good stay there and we know what to expect and haven't been let down!
Not to say that their service doesn't deserve mentioning.
I had a severe allergic reaction one time (completely unrelated to Cambridge Suites) and had to go to the hospital in the middle of the night. They were extremely kind and considerate; allowing us a late checkout -asking us when would be good for us- because we got back from the hospital at dawn and they even wrote me a card conveying concern and hoping I was well soon.
I would never expect such wonderful acts of kindness they were not obligated to provide. So I am always happy to go back. I hope any visitors have a great experience-minus a trip to the hospital :)

Room Tip: executive suite all the way!

The reviews say it all, this really is a great choice in Toronto. Located right at Richmond & Yonge, it's just a short walk to restaurants, museums, Yonge-Dundas Square, and Eaton Centre. We had a room on the 17th floor, and it was very comfortable with separate living and sleeping areas. The staff are extremely friendly and were there to help with everything, including the major power outage that the hotel had while I was there in mid-July. I would definitely stay here the next time I return to Toronto.

I feel like many big cities hotels get old really quickly, lots and lots of people stay at this type of hotels and they get misused, abused, and it shows. This hotel though, was to say the least the most comfortable place to come back after a long day walk all over the city. The suites are large and offer all you need in the right place. It does shows some aging here and there, but the hotel somehow has a great feeling. Breakfast included, umbrellas, etc all inclusive better than the Sheraton a few blocks up... location though is a little bland, and not as a striking views as other places... but again it feels comfortable. I would stay here again.

We ordered a Cityscape Suite which was a good enough size for a weeks stay with a large with sofa, armchair, work table and chair. There was a bedroom that could be partitioned off by 2 sliding doors which contained a large flat screen TV and dvd player and a lounge area with another large flat screen TV. Bed, duvet and pillows were wonderfully comfy! The bathroom area was split into two with the toilet, bath and shower separate from the bathroom sink and large bathroom vanity area.
There was a fridge for personal use and a microwave along with coffee making facilities and a kitchen area / sink and glasses, mugs, plates and cutlery were provided. The bedroom had a double Ipod and iPhone dock built into clock which was very useful for us.
The air con did quickly make the room cold, but not to a set temperature - just seemed to keep on going! So once it was cold enough we switched it off.
The room was a bit dark even though we were on the next to top floor and note that the Cityscape rooms don't necessarily give you a great view of the city as you're in amongst a number of sky scrapers but you do get free WiFi which is secure and fast and a complimentary breakfast buffet that gives a reasonable selection of fresh fruit, porridge, waffle, egg, bacon, cereal, cakes, yogurt, toast.
The rooms are in need of a refurb and the bath was the most uncomfortable I have ever sat in and the shower was old but worked well.
If you can look past the fact that the bathrooms were old and the decor a little tired then the hotel makes up for this in other areas. Reception staff were very helpful and informative (provided us with a helpful street map and some advice on catching the trams and taxis), there are free cycles for hire from the hotel (for the morning or afternoon, ). Free bottled water was delivered every afternoon with a weather forecast of the next day. Free newspapers were available on our floor and in the lobby. Full and comprehensive hotel guide in room.
The location is excellent - right in the heart of things without being noisy. However, it is a bit of a distance from the airport so be prepared to pay around $60 for a 25 min trip to the airport by taxi.
There is a Spa / gym area on top floor with whirlpool and sauna views over the city which is open from early to late which was nice to relax in after a hard day of treking round the city.

Dear Denise H,

Thank you for the throrough and helpful review! I am pleased that we delivered good value and appreciated your thoughtful feedback. With the exception of our bathrooms, our full suite renovation was completed in 2010. We have recently completed our bathroom design and are working on a plan to begin updating them - in the meantime, we remain committed to ensuring they are well maintained and spotless.

My wife and I stayed at the Cambridge Suites Hotel on Saturday, September 22nd. The staff were fabulous, and the room was very quite and very clean and comfortable. Please, do yourself a favour....ask for a "corner" Suite on a high floor (we had 17). For the 1st time ever in Toronto, and I've stayed a lot, I could not hear any street noise (cars, garbage trucks, sirens, etc), nothing. Fantastic!! We ate in there restaurant, Portico, and the food was good. The only reason I did not give a 5 rating was, when we checked in our room was not ready...it was not ready till 4:30. I would recommend letting the hotel know you need an early check in, maybe that way you will be ensured a ready room. We would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Pick a corner suite and high floor for quite

Centrally located, around the corner to the Subway, tram runs by the front door, and the biggest shopping centre in Toronto is just across the road. Suites are spacious with a lounge/dining, small kitchen area (sink, fridge and microwave), king bed, dressing room and bathroom with separate shower and bath. Very comfortable and clean, nicely decorated with good facilities. Breakfast downstairs at $15 for a hot breakfast is excellent value. Highly recommended.
