“Great Location and Good for the price.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2010

Can't beat the location right on the edge of Yonge-Dundas Square during the daytime for shopping, theatre and any other downtown Toronto visit. The block and a half from Yonge can be a little scary at night, but not if you're used to any other big city. Great little pub located across the street (Imperial Pub) with a jukebox that boasts lot's of Sinatra. But I digress, back to the hotel. A strange layout to some of the rooms, I think it may have been an apartment hotel at one time, so our triple occupancy was in three single beds, two in one part of the room, and the third in an adjacent area. Decent LCD TV and new wood floors and the bathroom had been redone. Clean enough and staff were all very helpful. Lobby and restaurants were being re-done, something that wasn't mentioned when we booked, but it wasn't really a hassle and there are lot's of eating places nearby. There is dedicated underground parking, but it's a little weird in that it is under a building across the street. It is supposed to be secure, and there is a call box to call the front desk clerk to let you in, but every time I went in and out, either the door was already open or someone else was coming out, so easy to get in. That being said, we experienced no problem with parking. So to sum up, ya get what you pay for, and the location/price are hard to beat.

This has to be the best budget hotel in downtown Toronto!
Room: small but seemed totally new
Bed: great, nice duvet cover
Bath: very clean
Only place left to makeover in Hotel are corridors. But you don't stay in the hall.
Housekeeping: excellent
Security: can't get to room floors without card key
Literally only steps to the heart of downtown Toronto (Dundas Square)

I have never been in an hotel room that was so small. The mattress was paper thin and the bed frame was rusted so every time I moved, the bed made a loud squeaking sound. It is more like a shabby motel than a hotel. The room smelled like toilet cleaner and the furniture was old and worn out. I spent as little time in the room as possible because it was so dumpy and depressing.
The location was great though. I don't mind slumming it but not for $79 a night. You would get the same kind of experience in a youth hostel for a lot less money.

We did a montreal / niagra / toronto - all the hotels we stayed in were great, until we arrived here, simple requirements a clean none smoking room, when we arrived in the room it stank of stale smoke, the bathroom was dirty looking and the bed looked unclean, the final straw was the shower head was missing.
We stayed in the raddison niagra, top floor, over looking at the falls - and to say this hotel was a come down is an understatement, I didn't expect it to be on par with the room we had in Niagra, but this was ridiculous, I wen't down to reception and asked to have a change of rooms, one that was clean, had a shower head and didn't stink of stale smoke.
She refused, and was rude saying that she would go and inspect the room and also it's all non smoking ( as if she didn't believe me, I know the smell of stale smokey rooms - not smoke that lingers from clothing this was in the room), at this point , I said I am unhappy with the accommodation provided can you void our payment, which she did with childish unprofessionalism, we then went to the comfort quality inn (sorry can't remember the exact name), but down the street from the Bond.
Compared to the Bond this was clean, comfortable and same price, my advice is compare prices of other hotels in TO, I would advice avoiding this one.
Toronto is a fantastic vibrant place to visit, don't spoil it by staying here.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback from your stay in June 2008. I'm happy to be able to share with you that, since that time, our guest rooms have been refreshed with hard wood floors, new beds, white duvet bedding and LCD tvs Public areas, including the lobby, restaurant and meeting facilities, are complete renovated or in the final stages.
We hope that you will give the Bond Place Hotel another try on a future visit to Downtown Toronto.

This was a fantastic hotel. The rooms are fairly large. The staff is extremely friendly, and the TV is perfect!
From the moment we checked in, to the moment we checked out, we were extremely satisfied.

The TV had movies on demand (a limited selection), and they were pretty cheap! Was surprised to see that (not often in hotels).

What would make it perfect?: A pool, definitely. Other then that, everything was perfect.

This is a great hotel for teenagers visiting Toronto. The location is amazing, just minutes from the Eaton Centre and all the shopping, though it is a little far from the bar and club districts, it is still a great location. There is parking across the street in the deck for about 10-15 dollars a day which is a good price for a big city. When we visited, we had lost our car key at the bar the night before we were supposed to check out. (we live 5 hours away and locksmiths wanted $250 for a new key). After being so frustrated and not knowing what to do, we stayed in the lobby for hours trying to figure out a solution. The guy on the concierge noticed how upset we were and he helped us by calling Canada's roadside assistance program or whatever, under his name, so we could get into my car at least. They staff even let us keep our luggage behind the desk while we waited for someone to come get us. The staff there were probably the nicest people we've ever met in Toronto. Besides that, the rooms were okay. not amazing but certainly worth the price. The elevators were very slow and crowded and the lobby didnt have a bathroom, but besides this, We are going to stay here again!!

2 stays, 2 rooms as good, wide, clean, wonderful view. Very quiet, the staff is very helpful and you're right in the city center. For a ridiculous low cost !
