Stayed here from the 18th to 21st June 2010. Clearly a bad wekend to have picked the Intercontinental Hotel given that the area was cordoned off for the G20 meeting.
The hotel was hardly welcoming at all. It would appear that the old Intercontinental Charm is long dead and this was reflected throughout the hotel. I went to the Spa at 2pm on the 20th June and there was no one at the front desk....I waited for 10 minutes and eventually the Asst Spa Manager came out, not even a word of apology.
The Spa was well kept except for the showers that had dirty grouting and the steam room that could do with some better cleaning. The Spa service was good though.
Generally, not the place that I would return to....it was not friendly and there was nothing to suggest that my business would be welcomed again.
