location is incredible. the lobby is great. but the rooms were below average. no refrigerator, $32 a day for parking (?!?!?!!) and internet was sporadic at best (wifi was non-existant). the desk workers were average (not as friendly as they could be) but the house-keeping staff was very pleasant. i would try a different hotel on king street before coming back.

Room Tip: we got our room for $125/night through priceline.

Excellent hotel within walking distance to anything you need. CN Tower, Rogers Centre and on king street with great restaurants. I would stay here again. Feels high class, only negetive was Internet is charged at a very high rate.

Spent 2 nights in this hotel on 18th/19th July. Hotel is well located on King St. West. Did not think room - which was 2 x double beds was anything special. Room was quite small in depth so walking by ends of bed with suitcases on floor as there was not sufficient room to store 2 large and 2 small cases was a bit of a pain. The things that let it down for me was the bathroom door hanging off its hinges - so to close door you had to lift it up and force closed. I mentioned this at reception and at 9am next morning while bathroom was in full use a maintenance guy called by. We said could he call back later -which he did when we were out and made a repair. Repair was not 100% as door was still not aligned properly and still caught frame when closing. Bathroom just had a feel of not being professionally cleaned. The other gripe would be the head boards of beds. They are in a curve so pillows are not up against the head boards and "fall" off back of bed. A small bottle of water in room was $4 which was a bit over the top. Having said all that we were happy with location especially for CN Tower.

We were here last weekend for an event. This is not a hotel we would have typically chosen, but most of the group was staying here so we did, as well. The lobby is nice enough and the check in process was fairly quick. Our room wasn't ready so we headed to the upstairs bar. We were told there is a guarantee check in time of 4 pm so we had a couple of hours to kill. They promised to call us when ready. After a drink at the lobby bar, we ventured down King St. for a little walk. It was nearing 4 pm so we headed back to the hotel. Still no call, so we headed down to the downstairs bar and ordered some snacks and drinks. At 4:45 pm we finally wandered upstairs and asked about our room. They had apparently just forgotten to call us and made up for it with free wi-fi. Cool.

Our room was pretty plain and overlooked the pool. The bathroom was small and the bed was lumpy, small, and uncomfortable. I am pretty sure we paid for a King bed, but that definitely was not a King bed. Each day we were only given 2 bath towels and the toilet paper was only refilled IF the toilet paper was completely gone. One day there was like 10 sheets left on the role and they didn't replace it or leave another one for the next 24 hours. Not sure if that is an green/eco thing, but that definitely was frustrating.

Two of the bartenders were super nice and accomodating to our group and gave us MANY suggestions for the week on places to go and eat, etc. I can't recall their names, but they definitely deserve some gold stars as they were the big positives to our stay...and the reason this review is 3 starts instead of 2. The female was of Caribbean decent and the male was of slight build with silver hair.

I probably wouldn't suggest this hotel to someone visiting Toronto, but I would definitely suggest you stop in the bar one night to have a drink or two.

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency on July 19-22nd and had a great stay. The hotel is in a great location on King street close to the CN Tower, and other tourist attractions. Check in was fast and the staff was friendly. I was given room 1037 which had a king bed. The room was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The bathroom was a nice size as well. There is a Starbucks in the building which is very nice. The only bad thing was the water in the room did not get very hot. It was only hot on one morning all the other times the water was luke warm.

I found the Hyatt Regency Toronto to be a solid hotel in a great location. The hotel has a very nice, spacious lobby and good food. The rooms were comfortable, and while not dirty not "white glove clean" either. Little things like the bathroom counter being clean, but seeing water spots.....I've become used to that extra bit of polish I guess. The rooms are as pictured on the website, and the staff was good. The only excellent service I would say was provided by the gentlemen at the concierge desk. They were very helpful in planning tours and transportation.

Room Tip: Beds looked lumpy, but were actually very comfortable.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Hotel is not large, but it is tall, and there was not valet parking. Front desk and Bellman provided excellent service at check-in, as expected for Hyatt: friendly, courteous, and very helpful. Check-in was relatively quick. Lobby is small; it almost feels like a boutique type hotel; clean lines dark wood walls and light floors.

Room: Was on the 19th floor. The room had two very comfortable queen-size beds with a view. I stayed here a year ago as well in a different room, and these rooms are on the smaller side. Be advised that several pieces of luggage can take up some floor space in these size rooms. Rooms was clean, and bathroom design very nice. But the bathtub had a crack on the edge that looked like it was not repaired well. The door to the room had to be given an extra push or pull to close entirely. But again, the view from the room was great. One exception is not the hotel's fault: there is much condo construction going on in downtown Toronto, and we saw a lot of that from the view.

Room was quiet from outside condo construction noise, but you could hear guests in adjacent rooms. Not noisy at night, but the Hyatt put up a sign in the evening that stated "Only registered guests are allowed on the upper floors starting at 10:00pm". This was done to curtail late night noise.

Room service: Room service was out of character for a Hyatt. I made my room order and left to get something outside the hotel. I was gone all but 7 - 10 minutes. Amazingly, my order, which did require some prep, was ready, and room service had come up and I was not there. They did call and left me a message, I called back and apologized, I had just missed them by a minute or so, and they came back up. I apologized again personally, but the person seemed so miffed during the whole time, like he didn't want to be there. Even after my tip, which was considerable, I barely heard a thank you. Room service is not worth it here. Don't bother.

Cleanliness: Room Cleaning staff was very good. Lobby was very clean. But it is not clear if they have enough cleaning staff 24/7. My roommate however came in the hotel late and walked over spilled beer that was almost sticky in one of the elevators.

Hotel facilities: The deck with the pool is a wonderful little getaway on the 17th floor weather permitting. Nice!!! Workout facility is small but you get a great view of the city. The King Street Social Kitchen, which is their hotel restaurant is good for buffet breakfast. Buffet price and selection is good, but they end breakfast at 11:00am every day. The Hyatt Regency in Chicago, for example, will at least keep their weekend buffet open a couple of hours after that. In this hotel's defense, there may not be the crowd to warrant having that open later...it was not full when we ate there. We walked over to Cora's to have breakfast for less money and a more fulfilling meal. Or go to Tim Hortons' for something small and quick.

Neighborhood: Convenient location. About a 7 minute walk to the subway. This hotel is located in the entertainment district, so it is a block or two away from some playhouses. Plenty of bars, pubs, and eateries around. Neighborhood is quite active on the weekends, and can be loud when you are out on the street. Lot's of bars means lot's of alcohol, but these are not low-end places. Never felt unsafe day or night. Just can be a lot of people at certain times on the sidewalk. Walking distance to CN Tower. You can see the CN Tower when you walk out the front of the hotel.

Parking and Price: Not a cheap hotel but not the most expensive. Rooms will be smallish but square footage is more expensive in Toronto than from where I am in the Midwest. Parking is not cheap and you park yourself in the underground garage of the hotel. Spaces and navigation are tight in the garage, but we had a GMC Envoy and it parked with no problem.

Conclusion: Seemingly thin walls in the rooms and some cosmetic things don't make it seem like a luxurious hotel, but it benefits from excellent check-in and bellman staff, and a very convenient location. Hit on some things, miss on some others. But if I had to stay here again, I would have no problem doing it. Generally clean with a modern design. I would consider this hotel as an option if you want to be in the thick of social activity.

Room Tip: Higher floor, better view. Rooms facing South/Southeast will have the best chance of a CN Tower view...
