This hotel appears to have been recently refurbished. One of the folks from our office said this hotel used to be managed by another chain and Hyatt recently took over. I found it to be a nice room and wouldn't have an issue staying here again in the future.

Bring a room humidifier! Very Dry and Expensive: 1 night's stay + parking $256 all in, for a basic room. Friendly and helpful staff, but TOO few rooms assigned for event discounts, look out!
The "edge" at the bottom of the bed's headboard was also a disappointment.

Room Tip: I won't stay there again

The welcome was friendly, although when we checked in the receptionist didnt tell us about the business upgrade package ($35/day for breakfast, newspaper, internet and shirt pressing service) so we missed out on that until the second day.

Room insulation was a bit light - it may have been that my room as at the start of the corridor near the lifts so everyone passed by, the room itself was reasonably well appointed but no minibar but the real issue was bathroom - which was small and wardrobe / closet space. When i had hung up my clothes there were very few spaces left to store other folded clothes.

breakfast was the typical hotel chain fare - nothing out of the ordinary on offer here - the banquetes which form one side of the tables are low - I am tall but still felt that my chin was almost resting on the table. breakfast service was a bit spotty - waiting 20 mins for a non standard coffee was not acceptable.

the common areas and corridors were all a bit tired

Room Tip: I had a rear facing room and on the 18th floor - but based on my experiences i would also ask for a...

Check in was fast and efficient, service was warm and professional. Room was renovated, on the top floor and was spacious, clean, modern and quiet. I heard from co-workers that some of the other rooms had a strange layout/configuration. Convenient location close to amenities, love having Starbucks on site! The food provided during our conference was very good. Lobby was very attractive and inviting.

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency for three days while in Toronto on business. The room was not what you’d expect in a 4-star hotel. Lots of wear on the furniture. The cheap chair was stained and coming apart and the furniture had lots of scratches. The bathroom vent was full of dust, some paint cracked and the toilet was disgusting. When entering the bathroom you can see under the rim for about two inches the black and other yuk stuff that has been there for a very long time. I probably wouldn’t have mentioned any of this BUT for one other major irritant: WIFI charges. We traveled with two cell phones, two iPads, and a laptop. We knew that so-called high-end hotels charge for wifi and expected to pay $12 to $15/day. Never did we think the cost for wifi would be $14.95 per day PER DEVICE! For three days would have cost $224! So we paid for the laptop only. Since our phone plan does not include Canada, and roaming is $1/minute, it meant that the only free way to stay in touch while apart was via texting in wifi areas. We’ve stayed in many three-star hotels around the country in much nicer rooms than the Hyatt and the WIFI WAS FREE! In fact, we stayed one night on both ends of our stay in Toronto in three-star accommodations with free wifi for all our devices and paid around $200/night. Considering we were paying over $400/night (normally around $269) because of a major convention, we were simply appalled at their wifi pricing structure. Needless to say, we will never stay there again and we will spread the word to anyone attending next years’ confer

Room Tip: Cannot recommend staying there.

We booked 3 nights here for our arrival in Canada and arrived at early hours due to delayed flight. The front desk staffs were very helpful and accommodated us very quick as we had very tired young sons as us. First impressions of the lobby that it was spacious, modern, bright and clean.

The room was a decent size for 4 of us. We had 2 double beds in it, the bathroom was a good size, there was a massive flatscreen TV built into the wall, the bed and beddings were very comfy and everything was modernity furnished and very clean.

The location was great too. A lot of nice places to eat or hang out and just steps away from the CN Tower. We also walked to Chinatown from there. As it was the weekend, it was a happening area nearby the hotel. It has a Starbuck that adjoins to the other side of the lobby which was handy too.

I quite like the lobby. As it's quite spacious my boys could walk around there and they enjoyed sitting on the modern shaped bench or sit by the water feature while playing on their consoles.

The room charge per night was so very reasonable for the quality we got. I was surprised that it wasn't expensive at all. We didn't eat in the hotel while there so can't comment on the food.

We had no fault with the hotel at all and would happily recommend others to stay here for either short or long term.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency on February 28 and it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at and we travel a fair bit. It was so bad that we woke up at 4 in the morning and decided to pack up and head home even though we had a whole day planned in Toronto. Our first room had a smell of cigarette smoke covered with air freshener even though it was a non-smoking room. We asked for a second room and it had a very strong smell of air freshener. We left our room to go out for a few hours hoping that the smell would be gone by the time we got back. Unfortunately, when we returned it was still just as strong. We tried turning on the fan to air the room out but it didn't help and the windows don't open. We decided to stay anyway. Wrong decision! We woke up in the middle of the night with headaches, sore throats, and coughs. Within an hour of leaving the hotel we had recovered and felt much better. On the upside, the staff were friendly and the lady at check-out was concerned about our disatisfaction. Unfortunately, we booked the room through an online site and she was not able to compensate us in anyway. And just to add, parking at the hotel overnight is $32. Our room was clean but the hallways were filthy. We were not impressed in anyway by this hotel.
